West Allotment Celtic actually play 15 miles or so away from West Allotment (the club has been absent from West Allotment for 25 years now) in Woolsington at the former home of the defunct original Newcastle Blue Star (it’s just north of Newcastle near the airport). From Despair To Where? wrote:I do like the irony of Quorn playing a team from the home of the pork pie.
And who knew there was a place called West Allotment?

Probably some very strange names tucked away esp in some of the African leagues but given how they were formed, the name makes perfect sense.Simmops wrote:The Greeks were not dancing on the streets of Enfield last night.AthleticoSpizz wrote:Salamis out

Hashtag United. Is there a weirder name then that
From a quick google, my favourite names I have seen are:Stranded wrote:Probably some very strange names tucked away esp in some of the African leagues but given how they were formed, the name makes perfect sense.Simmops wrote:The Greeks were not dancing on the streets of Enfield last night.AthleticoSpizz wrote:Salamis out

Any new grounds or teams for you to go see this year?Four Of Clubs wrote:Royals and Racers wrote:Off to Kidlington v Salisbury tonight(match 103)
....was on my list for tonight & actually it had edged ahead of Highworth v Melksham ; in that those two are in the same division -personally I prefer to avoid such ties, as I'm not convinced they carry any 'magic of the cup' element.
Anywhose a grim work-day, grotty weather and the resultant onset of Cba-ness had me dithering - swung by the potential of the missus' cooking - which tonight's fare had a (false) promise of being borderline edible - wrong choice.![]()

Chops with the consistency of furniture-
- checked NL tweets - discovered 'Kiddy' had sold out advance tickets with only very restricted availability of pay at the gate - and those posts were being made quite early this PM (hope R&R got in?)
I did get out to the Hartley v Erith & Belvedere cup tie last night (Tue) - visitors from two steps below 'The Row' ,were neat and quick but couldn't handle the power and multi-faceted goal-threat of their hosts. Mitch Parker was unplayable scored one and set up at least two.
250 plus in attendance but it's a big ground so mostly well-spread out - not much distancing in evidence in front of the clubhouse though.
....always new grounds if you are willing to go far enough or low enough in the Pyramid.Simmops wrote:

Let me know if/when you are up Haywards Heath, Horsham, Burgess Hill way. I am that neck of the woods.
Decent game at Kiddy last evening- i suspect attendance was nearer 300 than 236. It was a far better game than the other match i have seen this season which was an Extra prelim round match Burnham(Slough) v Cheltenham Spartans.Four Of Clubs wrote:....always new grounds if you are willing to go far enough or low enough in the Pyramid.Simmops wrote:

Done the three specific major clubs in those three towns above , as well as a fair number round about them.
Recently have been working down thru the Southern Combination (Sussex Leagues) as was. Only got Lancing and Saltdean to complete the top division and I think I've done about 50% of Div One.
Vary rarely have a definite destination, when I set out on a Saturday PM - usually let my mate pick from a list of possible new venues, provided for him from the week before. At least he seems to have had his fill of Essex clubs - which always seemed to be his preference. I suspect there aren't that many left over that way for us to do and the M25 can be a real drain on your enthusiasm for travel.
Back on the FA Cup topic - In the cup ties tonight involving 'featured' clubs:
Kiddy led higher placed Salisbury - visitors levelled with the the last kick of the game but the hosts got through 4-2 on pens. Att was recorded as only 236, so I suspect they were admitting some through the gate?
Highworth were also taken to spot kicks by Melksham but succumbed 4-5.
Sutton Common Rovers from the CCL-P were beaten 1-3 at G.G. Lane by Met Police - crowd announced as a round 300 - so maybe a sell-out with restrictions.
