Forget about our players leaving....

by Rob-Royal » 08 Jul 2011 13:18

....if the manager goes then we really are in the sh1t!

He's building a very good reputation and it will only be a matter of time before he gets peed off with trying to perform miracles with one hand tied behind his back!

and no one could blame him. as a supporter i am completely baffled by john madejski's reluctance to invest in the squad. a poor season next season will see the core of this side, or what's left of it, wanting out, and then god knows what lays ahead for us. i know new owners doesn't always mean success, and i know some are bad apples, but we really do need a new owner with drive and enthusiasm to take this club forwards again.

Well I have a feeling we will get to see how good McD is next season. I predicted Mills departure will result in many players looking to leave, which I still believe will happen.

Under SJM Reading FC is a well run business. And that is all that it is to him. Not a football club which he has a passion for like the fans, but a business to make money off of. Everything and everyone one is for sale for the right price and no one need question him about how he doesn't reinvest his money. It is his club and he'll do with it what he wants to. All the fans need to do is show up to pay for whatever product he decides to put on the field. Just don't have too ambitious dreams about on the pitch results because it is all about being a well run business.

I feel sorry for McD. If he got a little bit of help in terms of bringing talent in he'd be a PL manager already...he is that good.

I can't see McD leaving, he has been at the club so long he is part of the furniture. Also, with over a decade at the club, Madejski's tightness is not exactly going to be a surprise. I am sure he was expected these sort of things to happen the moment he took over.

Having said that, he deserves to Manage a decent club after what he's achieved, not the well run loss making club that that pcunt Madejski and his spin doctors runs.

lol.

but we lose less a year than most championship clubs. ergo we are better run than them.
especially since we seem to remain at least competetive year on year

I can't believe I'm rising to such crap, but it is impossible to make a profit or even break even as a Football League club - at this level "well-run" means staying in business and competing, which we do despite all the obstacles.

Good point, apart from the bit about it being impossible to make a profit, it is possible, just very very very unlikely. We have done since we're been relegated, through player sales admittedly.
