Elmer Park Twitter doesn't always bring a smile to my face but the tweet I read today by a Burnley supporter saying he would like Church in exchange if Reading get Bikey-Amougou certainly did that.

POTD

I'd love to see Charlie Austin's face if Simon Church rocked up to threaten his first team place.

roadrunner
TBM
roadrunner Would he? He has played there and defence for Burnley and it's not worked out for him..

31 games in the premiership in centre mid for Burnley

What part of not worked out for him did you get stuck on? They were beaten and kicked about every week and went down, and then last season he was a disaster. :|

All in all he's been relegated with 2 clubs, lost his head with us on a couple of occasions and then let go, and now Burnley have given up on him and they're not exactly bulging with talent.

I must have got stuck on the part that you said "he has played there and it didn't work out for him" - surely if it didn't work out he wouldn't have played 31 games in that position :|

They tried moving him back to centre back last (& this) season which hasn't worked out for him - doesn't mean he cant do a job in CM, as i stated.

Playing 31 games there doesn't mean it worked out. It just means they didn't have a better option.
Oster played regularly for us in the Prem, doesn't mean he was good enough.

not convinced by bikey. horrible temper that cost us in the play-offs vs burnley. he was never convincing in midfield, just useful occasionally when we needed a physical presence. it hasn't worked out for him at burnley or reading now, and both had a run out in the premier league and championship with the player, and both have let him go. that tells you plenty.

We didn't really 'let him go', we sold him for more than he was worth ...

He had his moments but he's better than Pearce.
