Jonny Fordham did also report this saying that Reading FC had interest from a 'lower league' club for Harte but McDermott had a chat with Harte and said he wanted him to stay with Harte echoing that saying he wanted to stay and fight for his place here. So... i think the interest is definitely there but unless a VERY good offer comes in, i can't see him leaving

Hope he stays, very experienced defender that can come on as a sub and change a match.

Think 'change a match' is a bit much, he can offer something different yes (i.e. a good set piece), apart from that i can't say i think he 'changes' the game much. But let's not go into the Ian Harte debate - all in all i agree. He can still do a job here, would be disappointed to see him leave tbf

I'd be very suprised if we let him go. As sad as it sounds he is quite valuable to us for the rest of this season. Unless we were to sign another left back?

Agreed, can't see him being much use beyond this season and we've kept Gunnarsson and Ingimarsson a year past their sell-by dates recently so perhaps we'll have learnt from that*.

* unless we've just been paying them to be around the squad and be a good influence, in which case I hope they're not on a big basic!

We possibly don't need Griffin and Harte at the moment, not when we have Cummings, Mills, Gunnarsson and Tabb (plus youngsters like Arnold) capable of playing fullback. There was also a rumour we were looking at another left back somewhere, probably with a view to doing something in the summer though.

Don't know, I presume they weren't on the same kind of terms as when they were key players and in their prime. Howeber, I doubt they were/are on 100% pay as you play deals as they could've gone elsewhere and earn't proper money.

I can't see Gunnarsson being here for the whole season and only picking up a wage from the handful of games he plays alone. He must at least be on some kind of retainer that made it worth his while staying here and not going to someone like Swindon, Wycombe, Brentford etc etc.

No idea, but seeing as that's only a few grand I can imagine it's the biggest financial draw for him. A weeks wages he'd put aside 6 or 7 years ago probably would've covered it!

We may be giving him support to do them but I'm sure most other clubs he might've gone to could've matched that as well.
