Decent enough when no one around him but physically not ready for the premier league when challenged

I dare say they're not far wrong, but considering he only played a handful of games for them I think there's a good chance they didn't see enough to be quite so sure.

6 months more physical development and he could be closer to being up to Premier League requirements though. Having said that, if I were Chelsea I'd be looking to send him out to a Championship side like Brighton to get some proper first team football under his belt for 6 months before seeing where else in the Premier they can send him to actually play. Reserves and the odd few minutes here and there aren't really what he needs right now.

That might well be enough to judge his physical capabilities, but I'd say you need more to really suss out whether or not he has the nous to work within the constraints of his build (it hasn't stopped plenty of small midfielders in the past but you do have to learn how to play).

From the couple of times I saw him play for Chelsea I thought he looked a canny little player and I hope he kicks on this year by playing games somewhere.
