RUMOUR - Kalifa Cisse

by LoyalRoyalFan » 28 Jul 2012 22:07

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is set to decide on Wednesday whether to offer trialist Kalifa Cisse a contract at the Reebok Stadium.

The former Reading and Bristol City defensive midfielder has played 90 minutes over Bolton's first two pre-season friendlies.

And Coyle is prepared to offer Mali international Cisse, who is reportedly wanted by Premier League new-boys Reading, a final chance to impress against Falkirk on Wednesday.

He told The Bolton News: "Kalifa has been a good player, but the judgement will be, 'is he any better than the ones we have got?'.

"Coming into the Falkirk game, I'll talk with him and tell him exactly what my thoughts are, where he fits in or where he doesn't.

"But right now, I think we'll take the opportunity of another couple of training sessions and the Falkirk game before we decide."

From Sky Sports.

Bolton haven't offered him a contract.

Why on earth would we want Cisse back, when he has proved he isn't good enough for the Chump at at least two clubs, including ours?

I quite liked Cisse. Could be shit on his day but could also be absolutely brilliant the next.

Would be amazed if we were even remotely interested in him now though.

That game against Man Utd. Absolutely unstoppable and one of the single-best Reading performances I've ever seen from an individual.
Other than that he was mediocre

I wouldn't want us signing anyone called Cisse, especially not Kalifa.

He is good enough for the Championship. He showed that under Coppell.

He isn't good enough for the Premier League though, and he isn't nearly as good as Legs or Karacan, let alone Guthrie. No chance.

No way i can see this happening. I liked him though. As said, on his day he bossed the midfield and could score goals, but no consistancy

That was incredible. Everyone was a bit indifferent about him but by the end of the match everyone was chanting his name. Shame he only did it the once.

He was also amazing when we tonked Brizzle City 4-1 away in 2008, topped off by scoring an absolute screamer (at 0:56). KALIFA! CISSE!

The 2-0 defeat at the mad stad .... Cisse managed to keep Rooney at bay until the last 10 minutes or so. Think he was giving the job of man marking him if I remember correctly. I thought he was a better centre back than he was defensive midfielder in all honesty but wouldn't want him back now.
