He would be a top signing for any Championship club, I've seen him boss many games at this level and would love to see him here.

He's also a left sided centre back which we currently don't have at the club.

Seems a good shout, particularly as he is left-sided. Upson and Berra have also both been released, both left-sided I think. Who would be the best buy for one promotion season?

Blackburn are putting together a decent side. Now they just need to give a manager an actual chance, rather than throw the season away again with trigger happy decisions.
