Steve Brown blasts Charles Watts?

by sandman » 05 Dec 2015 14:54

Not exactly a 10 pager but an interesting interview on bbc berks yesterday with former Reading defender Steve Brown. He criticised "a local journalist" for overly aggressive questioning of Clarke in the press box on Thursday and said that he was surprised Clarke didn't cut the interview short.

Reading the fairly robust questioning of Clarke on getreading Watts seems to be the obvious culprit. Can't see someone like Pearson standing for that sort of attitude and we could see some Rodgers like training ground bans for local journalists.

From what people said on here after the game, Tim Dellor was giving him a tough time on the radio and he has got previous with Rodgers.

Oh boo hoo a football manager got criticised :?: Typical old boy's network in football, they are more than happy to take all plaudits but can't take it when they are questioned.

I agree. Press conferences are stage managed to a degree and there were questions that needed to be asked and needed answering.

It's all rather moot now though. He's gone and there's not many unhappy about it.

Dellor, Adie and Charles all doing their job. Clarke should have done his.

Dellor personifies being 'savaged by a dead sheep'.

Ady stepped in and gave Clarke a bit of a tougher time.

Charles Watts was the toughest line of questionning but that was because he was the only one asking all of the questions that everyone wanted answering. It was only a tough interview in that it got to the point. It certainly wasn't aggresive or disrespectful. I thought Brown's comments were stupid and strongly suggested that he was completely out of touch with what has been going on at our club.

Nice to hear Steve Brown again.....he was a decent defender.

His time as a manager at Ebbsfleet didn't particularly work out too well.....but I'd happily see him here as a defensive coach.....Wally Downes stylee

Wasn't he, Sir Steve Coppell and Kevin Dillon at the game the other night?

I'd be happy with that

He could double up as GK coach.
