Speculation - Piazon - would you buy him?

It completely depends on how we're going to set the team up.

If we're going to play with an attacking midfielder, then he'd be a good option. Still a bit inconsistent, but frankly if he wasn't then he wouldn't be playing in the Championship. I don't think it particularly matters if he's "lightweight" in that position.

I don't rate him as a winger or central midfielder though, so if we're going to play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 then I wouldn't sign him.

If I were the manager then I'd probably be going with 4-3-3, but that's not the only set-up that could work with the right players. No objection to signing Piazon as long as Brian's planning on using him correctly.

However, if we were going to splash out on one of our marquee loanees, I'd rather have Vydra. Piazon would be ahead of John, who in turn would be ahead of Fernandez.

I think it is more likely we have an obligation to buy Vydra at the end of his loan, that is why Mcdermottis putting so much effort in with him and also why we are buying cheap in January to save funds to cove Vydra. I think we will sign Gunter and Hal up as well as we don't want to make the same mistake we made last summer happen letting the core of the squad disappear for nothing again and a rebuild job again. McDermott wants to steady the ship and build a squad not decimate and start again..... so the long and short is no we wont buy Piazon because the money we do have is not for him.

- Vydra wont come here unless we're in the Prem ( we cant afford him)
- Gunter & Hal will both go, regardless of if we re-sign them, after the Euro's (if not sooner)
- McDermotts speciality is dealing with / rebuilding squads that have been sold off - I'm sure one of the reasons why the Thais have him here.
- Piazon - I know (itk) that his agent didn't want him here at the start of the loan - and will be looking to get him back in the Prem / another top flight at the end of his time here - no chance of landing him

There is no way that Chelsea would sell him for £2 mill

IMO better suited to leagues abroad and as mentioned would need to toughen up to be a success here on a regular basis.
