Being reported that Thomas Ince has got a £50k release clause, and predictably twitter is going into meltdown. Was hardly likely to pull his weight once his dad got the boot, so expected him to go anyway. And given our situation when he signed I'm sure he wouldn't have bothered without some kind of relegation release clause.

Yep #readingfc is embarrasing most of the time but the reaction to this perfectly acceptable deal to get a player in we would not otherwise of managed to do is something else.

Sounds bollox to me, what's the point in a 50k release fee? Might as well be nothing.

If he did well with us, we lose him for an insulting fee if he does badly with us, we'd just let him go a free. In terms or relegation, you may as well just put in a flat relegation clause permitting him to speak to and leave for Championship and above teams for free.

Ince was good before his dad was in charge and will be good after too. He's too good for L1. If we keep him, great, if not its just part of the rebuild.

At least League One would be a step up from the SPL. I can’t get excited about any potential signing until we have a manager in place tbh.

Only for transfers between two different countries which is why I specifically stated English based.

Aberdeen would be a better pull. As bad as Scottish football is, it's better than league one. Playing European football is a pull for Aberdeen.

I think there's the potential of climbing the leagues for us while Aberdeen will just be Aberdeen.

Didn't Aberdeen lose their star striker to a National League side a few years ago? Would expect us to be a bigger a draw than any Scottish team, bar Celtic and Rangers.
