Just imagine that discussion - ‘we can offer you a deal up until May 5th this year’

Dependent on the outcome of the season.

I'd take him as a utility man in League One but probably not in the Championship.

Only 31. Would be a monster in League 1.

Remember thinking he was the best opposition player I’d seen all season when he turned out for Rotherham that year

Still that was a good few injury hit years ago. Could probably still do a good job if fully fit

Given that Dean will likely either move on, or in to coaching next year, Bindon is off, Mbengue possibly too the signing of an experienced CB, whether that is Ajayi or someone else (assuming takeover is actually done) will be high on the list of targets.

Must have seen him play, but I don’t recall him. Bit of PL experience, very experienced in Championship. Stats look solid.

But hasn’t played a 'full' season in quite a while. 31 is a bit older than ideal.

Step down to L1 should help with what looks like a player declining in the twilight of his career, and some needed experience at the back.

Expected comment from Joe Jacobsen but interesting his head has popped above the parapet.

He’s certainly brighter than Gourlay or Pang as he reckons the off the field cr@p needs to be sorted first :o  :?

And as he’ll presumably be the one sorting it his words carry quite a bit of weight !

Realistically you want your first choice centre halves to be 46 game players, hasn’t played even close to that in the past three seasons. Worth having on trial but his injury record does scare me a little bit.

Thought he was brilliant a few seasons ago but this just screams Nabby Sarr at me and I'd much rather we signed younger players with a point to prove that are surplus to requirements elsewhere.

I'd completely forgotten about Sarr. He played 24 games for us

I trust that Brian Carey and his team knows what they are doing. If an older player arrives it’s not going to be because Kia has made a recommendation to some silent bloke on another planet. Therefore we can be sure anyone who arrives will bring something of benefit to the squad overall.

Signings like this all come down to character, hunger and fitness. We need Michael Morrisons, Ian Hartes and Jason Roberts' joining us.

We don't need Danny Drinkwaters, Jeff Hendricks and Scott Danns.

I have no idea which category Ajayi would fit in. In Brian Carey we trust.

It's more the fitness side I'd say in this case. I can't see him being a big time Charlie looking for a last decent payday.
