Friday's Legacy * howard will go. there's better players here. he wont be missed.
* long will go. it's hard to see him staying. the money being talked about is too good to turn down. both parties happy.
* kebe will go. with one year left on his deal we will cash in. he's hinted at going. i think with a £2/3m offer we'd bite someones arm off.
* federici will go. it wont hurt. i think mccarthy is the better all round keeper. cash it if we can.

McCarthy a better all round keeper? Are you on drugs? He made a few good saves yes, but I doubt he could sustain that level for an extended period or he'd be our number one. Federici is far better in my opinion.

I'd argue on that - McCarthy just looks a natural. I'm always much happier and more confident when he's between the posts.

Federici seems to have perennial concentration and positioning problems.

loyalroyal4life Long, Mills, Howard and Kebe (only if french team comes in for him)

Les Loups have apparently shown some interest.

Suit his style of playing better than Alimenter Ville.

It's just what you get if you type "Stoke City" into Google translate.

Google translate gave me 'Supply City' - could've been any of the City's (although Kolo Toure at Manchester City did spring to mind)

Feds - Stay for another year, although I think McCarthy will take over as No.1 during the year.
Mills - Stay. I think his ego as new 'official' club captain will win over.
Kebe - Leave. He's at an age where he has 1 potential last big contract.
McAnuff - 50/50 - Due to his age, he's in a similar boat to Kebe.
HRK - Stay. McD loves him so I think he'll repay the love.
Howard - Leave. Effectively written his own P45 with that interview. No loss.
Long - Leave. As good as gone.

I think Long will give it one more year tbh. He seems like the kind of person that would want to reward the club/McDermott for what he has turned in to. Also having a very young family like he does, he may want to stay here.

Howard will be off i'm sure, which is a loss I think, seemed to be able to pick a pass when needed. After his game against Pompey I was surprised to see him out of the team not too long after.

Feds i'm not sure about, wouldn't be a surprise if Villa came in for him, but teams could be more interested in McCarthy due to his age, as well as being English i guess.

Mills I think will go. He's a great player on his day, but does have a few off days and his defending can sometimes be calamitous, yet his defending can be class.

McAnuff will stay now that Ledge has signed, have a feeling he might be made captain too if Mills is to leave.

Hunt won't be going anywhere after what he said when he signed a new deal.

Legs will be the new captain - and so he should whether Mills is here or not.

You honestly think McD would make Legs captain if Mills stayed? Behave. If he goes, then maybe.

no he doesn't. the whole team looks much more settled with federici in goal, contrary to the hyperbole that this board directs towards mccarthy. mccarthy stepped in well as an understudy and performed admirably in that role, but federici is currently a much better goalkeeper.

I too feel more confident when McCarthy is in goal because he's... er... bigger.

oh, and McAnuff for captain.

What this team needs is more 'Mc's!

Of course, it's a matter of opinion, but part of my opinion, from what I've seen of both so far, is that McCarthy has the potential to be a much better kepper than Federici ever will.

i was way way more comfortable with mcarthy in goal.
fed is ok at stopping shots, but doesnt command his area, and has 3-4 absolute rickets every season.
i am absolutely, 100%, behind shipping fed out, and making mcarthy No1

If there is such a thing as a 'natural' keeper then I think it's McCarthy. Federici, whilst undoubtably talented sometimes appears rather 'twitchy' in comparison...... I for one wouldn't be overly dissapointed if Federici did leave the club, particularly if we get good money for him.....

Predictions

OUT

Howard - Portsmouth, Southampton or Barnsley. Wherever it is he needs first team football!

Long - B.Munich, Newcastle or Everton. The boy is quality like Gylfi.

Kebe - Quality. He's rumoured to want a return to france.

Hamer - The one keeper I feel will move on, He's good enough to be first choice for a league 1 side no problem, with plenty of years to develop!

IN

Leigertwood, a new striker, and potentially a couple of loans!

Who'll Stay

Mills - He's our skipper and won't be as easily convinced to jump ships as some other players, Centrebacks have longer to make it to the big time, I feel he'll stay for at least one more year.

McAnuff - He's also quite loyal and despite easily being good enough to play in the prem, I feel again he'd like to be there with us + Ledge is here now!

Federici - Despite us having strength in numbers in the position, I think due to the injury he picked up and him not finishing the season as strongly as he could've he won't be poached as quickly, thankfully!

Hunt- He's happy here, and when asked on twitter didn't have a clue he was even linked with anyone!

I'm not sure Long will definitely go, get that feeling he'll see where we are in January, that way we'll both benefit because we'll get money for him that we wouldn't with him going on a free in summer, and he'll get the move of course. Hopefully we'll be in a position he'll want to stay in though.

Kebe might go pre-season.

Mills and Feds will stay but I wouldn't mind losing Fed.

I'll be optimistic and say Long, Mills and Federici to go.

As I said on the Mills rumor thread, if Mills, our only experienced CB and team captain, goes I predict the floodgates will be opened and our best players will prolly hand in transfer requests...unless a suitable replacement, and not a long term prospect, can be lined up post haste.

I can see Feds leaving seeing that we have two solid young keepers. Long is a semi-hot prospect. But Mills stated he wanted to stay before he and the team failed to agree to a new deal. It will be even a bigger kick in the teeth to the remaining players if he ends up going to Leicester and not a PL team. That would be the absolute wrong message to send to the lads...and I could see many of them wanting out to go to a team more keen on making it up to the PL. Isn't that the goal of teams and players with decent abilities at this level?

I don't care who goes. All our starting XI from the 106 team have gone and we are still a top end Championship side. Players will go and players will be replaced. A year ago no one liked Shane Long, now we could be selling him for upto £7 million!

Big clubs steal good players off little clubs shocker. Hold the front page.

Not eaxctly a mass exodus yet.

Mills looks the most likely to go.

Long could well be staying. Lots of talk but if there is a £7m price on his head I really doubt that anyone will be rushing to buy.

Feds - no real interest from premier clubs (the Liverpool stuff came from his dad apparently|). He is good but not a stand out player.

Kebe - nothing much happening here. May well see out his contract and return to France.

McAnuff - no great interest and seems to be viewed as a championship player at best.
