Highly unlikely for this window, but a possibility for the Summer.

Don't forget that BHAFC paid £2.5M for him and would want to see a premium on top of that, and are we - even now - going to offer say, £5M for a player?? I doubt it.....

Of the names mentioned I think this one would represent the least value for money. He's had a decent season but nothing spectacular and is a fair bit older than Sharp and a similarish type of player.

Still easily better than all but 1 of Reading's forwards so swings and roundabouts. But I think with Roberts in, somebody a bit younger for him to play alongside would be more favourable for me. I'd like to see ALF be given a go first I have to say. also can't see Reading signing another striker unless one or two of their current ones are shipped out first.

I'm surprised that the focus is still on a forward, at the end of the day you cant blame them if they arent getting any service. We need a decent central midfielder who can play a pass first time and can creative something rather than pass backwards all the time.

We signed that player last week.

A defender and another forward will complete our business by tomorrow night with a few going out aka Howard, D'ath, Manset on loan.

In Roberts and Le Fondre we have goal scorers. In Hunt we have inconsistancy. In Church we have frustration. In the rest we have very little except time to develop...

This wil not happen...Why would Brighton want to get rid of a player who has started every league match!

Who did we sign that can fill that role ? Cywka isnt a central midfielder and he'll play wide or up front, we've got a raft of forwards now and the problem is creating chances for them not whether they can finish them.

I think Reading's current 'Plan A' central midfield duo has shown what they're capable of, they're a duo that lets us play with two up front and gives the wingers more licence to stay in attacking areas. It's very rare to see a 4-4-2 with a 'creative' midfielder in football now, the closest you get is a Lampard/Sidwell box to box type player, otherwise they operate in a 4-5-1 and Cywka should be fine for that role.

Oh and back on topic I really don't see us overspending for CMS and with the new stadium and feel good factor at the club what incentive is there to leave Brighton?

As expected - these CMS to #readingfc rumours are completely unfounded, I've just been told #bhafc

When interviewed and asked where he likes to play he stated that it was in the centre of midfield, behind the main striker.

He made a bright start at the Seagulls and we all thought "I guess that what money buys you", but he's only scored one goal since September and six overall.

Like Alan Partridge, I don't think he'd represent great value for money at this moment in time and I can't see this one happening. Sharp is a better choice and more likely.

Does anyone actually know the chronology of this offer? The news may have come out this weekend, but there's no guarantee that this offer came *after* the Roberts transfer.

Hammond : Hello, Brighton? How much for CMS?
Brighton : More than you can afford, sunshine!.
Hammond : Hello, Blackburn? How much for Jason Roberts?

Brighton have signed Sam Vokes on loan til end of the season, obviously preparing themselves for losing CMS to us

Off down the Mad Stad to get Mackail-Smith printed on the back of me shirt now

McDermott said we were trying to bring Roberts here for a long time.

IMO no chance of Brighton letting CMS leave until at least the summer.

He is a player I would love to be at RFC though if we make it to the PL. At least he is a tryer who gives 100% each game and you really need some players who will do this in the PL.

I'm not sure johnny fordhams contacts are right on this, nothing in the rumours seems.a bit odd seeing as they eminated from Brighton. As we seem to be losing out over sharp we would be careful to keep our next move hidden from the eagle eyed jonny from the post...

Just idle speculation but it seems credible given Brians previous interest.

Can only hope alf and church aren't aware of all this!
