I’d be happy to see him sign a new two year deal but it would have to be on reduced wages.

Four points here really:

1) There's been plenty of talk about Gunter being good enough to stay

2) Gunter is likely to be on considerably more than Obita and isn't coming back from essentially a two year lay off, so is likely to be looking for a better deal

3) Obita is four years younger than Gunter

4) Yiadom is considerably better than Gunter and has far more experience than Richards. Whilst Obita is about the same as Richards, with more experience.

Richards has shown considerable progress this season. If he could add more consistency to his game he’d be a top player for us. Would like to see him first choice next season with Obita back up
