Oh sorry, I thought that when a player refused to play it was always the managers fault. At least that's the excuse Guthrie got.

kwik-silva Wouldn't mind him back on a short term loan, so he can destroy his legacy

But I really don't think our physios and medical team could cope with any more injuries at this moment in time.

At times an absolutely fantastic player but IMO psychologically weak and therefore a tendency to go missing and/or pick up injuries when times got tough and/or things weren't going well for him.

Why do supporters like to dis our past good players? He always said he loved being at Reading

Apart from when he refused to play and forced a move away, you mean?

That was the fault of the manager not Kebe.

As I remember, the rumour doing the rounds at the time was that he said when McDermott was sacked, he would never play for reading again. If that is true, then Kebe had already made up his mind before Adkins was appointed so the fault lies squarely with the player.

Sorry Mates you have got it wrong. He never refused to play. He liked NA. He got offered a return to the premiership which at the age of 29 was too good to miss. He loved being at Reading. Facts!

That's why i said IF the rumour is true. I don't believe it myself. It was more a response to the poster who used it was a stick to beat Adkins with.

My recollection of events in general was that he was out injured before McDermott was sacked and then in the summer we received an offer from Palace that really was too good to turn down bearing in mind he had a year on his contract, was unlikely to resign and had been crocked for 6 months.

There was some talk about him refusing to play at Peterborough but if the move was on the cards already, Palace wouldn't have wanted him cup tied.

Was actually using it as a stick to beat Guthrie and the one rule for one one rule for the other mentality of HNA? with.

I thought it was far more than 'some talk'. IIRC Adkins clearly stated (if not the Peterborough game, on of the others around that time) during an interview with BBCRB that Kebe was fit but had indicated that he wasn't willing to play for the team.

I'll take your word for it, I was on holiday with no internet access at the time but was aware of only the bare details of us getting stuffed at Peterborough then selling Kebe within a couple of days.

I'm only putting across a potential scenario of the interest from Palace being known at the time and there being some discussion as to Kebe not being cup tied. The club tends to keep transfers in and out close to their chest so is not going to come out and say a player isn't available because it might jeopardise a transfer.

If he did refuse to play then the past 12 months have been somewhat karmic.

Facts were he trained on the Saturday and felt a twinge in his hamstring. Felt it best to rest it it and make sure he was fit for the league game on the following Saturday. He never fell out with NA as they got on fine. NA was interviewed straight after the P'boro game and said only Jimmy knows whether he is fit or not. May have come over as a criticism but don't think it was. A day or so later c. Pal. came in with their offer. Too good for Reading or Kebe to refuse. Thats what really happened. Has said afterwards the set up and management team were very professional and Reading are a great club. And no, I'm not Jimmy but I do know this is what happened.

If you're not perturbed then why are you begging him to stop?
