Z175 To be fair he is out of contract ala Long. and Leicester kept reiterating their interest.

ok so where are the Sven quotes, or members of his staff' quotes to confirm they want to sign him? We get quotes from our own manager confirming he is going nowhwere today and everybody appears to have completely ignored it.

erm Tord Grips interview with the BBC when he said they were going to bid for Beckford, Jelavic and Kebe?

Leicester Mercury has put up a new story saying they are closing in on Jimmy Kebe.

Someone is telling porkies - hopefully at the Leicester end.

Focher jesus christ you've all got yourselves in a right old state for nothing, the only official statement to come out of anywhere today was McDermott saying he was going nowhere and no more business was going to be done, but most chose to completely disbelieve that and believe that cunt Fordham and mindless totally unfounded speculation from the Leicester Mercury.

Typical typical modern day football fans as far as im concerned.

Tbf, how was McD to KNOW for sure that Kebe was going nowhere. If someone made a bid for him and he wanted to go - are you really saying that we would have made him stay? I doubt it. So, thankfully, it appears he's not going - but no-one other than Jimmy could be 100% certain of that.

You can't just sell a player because he wants to go, it doesn't quite work like that, if it did, whats the point in having any years on a contract? Im sure that BM spoke to Hammond and Madejski before he was quoted on getreading, and was told that whatever happened offer wise Kebe would not be sold.

Because if a player had 3 years left on a contract we could ask for a stupidly high amount of money for the player - with only one year to go and with a player not yet having signed any extensions, it would be daft to refuse all offers for him, if he wanted to go, knowing he could go for nothing in the Summer.

As a confirmed cynic what a lot of people seem to be forgetting is the transfer window hasn't closed yet. I won't be pouring myself a lemonade for a few hours yet.

Actually the first reference to Kebe going to Leicester (this transfer window) was at 10.20 am yesterday...on page 3 of this very thread, about half way down.

CayeneMatt Hammond saying no enquiries? Someone's bullshitting....

No bids or no enquiries? The two are very different things.

Indeed, that was my initial reaction as they've pulled that one before.

The quote says no enquiries though.

TBM We are just covering our arse so next season we can sell him for £4m and cover that black hole

Rather than lose him for nothing and then have to sell someone else

Oh dear this is where the 4m came from..... (again page 3)

But the URL says no bids. Sub-editor sloppiness at the EPo, probably.

So, you're actually Kebe's new agent angling for a better deal? :D

I'd be shocked if the EPo actually had sub-editors considering the number of stories that read like first drafts

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet.
As alluded to by NH, an offer of an improved contract is on the table.
Kebe hasn't signed it.
He's keeping his options open by doing so.
And other clubs know it.

Thats nothing to do with mine or yours post. Forget about a 3 year contract or a 9 month contract, there is no way that BM would go to the EP and say what he said today unless he had full assurance from Hammond, Madejski, and Kebe. People seem to think we are pulling the wool over peoples eyes, when apart from revealing how much we pay for players, we are probably the most transparent club in the league. My problem is that most on here seem to believe completely unsubstantiated bollox over official statement from RFC.
