Interesting that all the Reading players are silent on Twitter tonight.

TBM 3 year contract >>>>>>>> 1 year rolling

Depends on whether you're getting promoted or relegated at the end of the season

It would be an absolute disaster on so many levels, although I can't see it happening. I can only presume Roberts and Connolly came to us on the basis of Brian McDermott's work, and given Kebe's willingness to sign a new deal based on the much improved prospects of the club which in itself is underpinned by Anton's desire to invest in what he wants, which allegedly Brian is central to. If Brian goes, the players go, the money goes and before you know it the club is dead. Oh my gosh.

Brian must stay.

You expect them to be breaking the news that Brian is staying/going?

McDermott, Hammond and possibly Zingarevich were in the hotel yesterday at 6:30pm.

Ozymandias Bulshitt paper talk.

Contradictory to the Guardian article, Gus Poyet is the bookies favourite once again at 7/4. McDermott at 2/1 and Bruce 5/2. The odds are poor returns for such an open field and all sources seem to contradict each other indicating nobody knows what's going on. Therefore I agree.

calm down for goodness sake....it would be a short term disaster, but not the death of the club. With the alleged "new money" a replacement could be found, but I have to admit it would be a huge blow and an end to any promotion hopes this season. Pardew and McGhee left us in times of strength (we were 2nd when pardew cleared off and flying high when McGhee went went) and we recovered. Time and people move on, but the timing of this would be awful.

Still think it is only a 10% chance and an opportunity for BM to Flex his muscles for a better deal.

2/1 looks a concern to me, Fordham seems to think McDermott has already met Wolves!?

If the Wolves put aside their talk that the manager needs to be a proven PL quantity McDermott will have the edge over Poyet. When he took over the club we were on the cusp of the drop zone and we rocketed up the table, finishing 9th, with him at the helm. My guess is that the Wolves know the history and want someone who has a track record of turning struggling clubs around in mid-season. That is my worry... :(

Would be gutted if this happens, might actually cry! But seriously I don't and probably never will trust fordham's reporting in the slightest...he gets 99.9% of his "work" from this very website! But if it is true, Coppell until the end of the season anyone

Nawwww not in for Coppell. His last managerial stint at Bristol City was a disaster. He is a legend and all for us but I am not sure about where his competitive head and heart is now with the way he quit Bristol City about 5 games in. I'd still prefer Gibbs to finish this season off if McD does leave and then start looking for a permanent replacement, if necessary, during the Summer.

ugh... not going to be the most fun 24+ hours waiting for news of this..

Still, as I said earlier, Sir Steve is available and would be the right man for the job again.

I'm afraid I can think of any number of reasons why this may happen. Just for example, he in his very early 50s and it's possible not many chances will come up like this, he has been at Reading for years now and may fancy a change, I'm sure the money will be significantly better, he will get to test himself immediately against premier league teams (no guarantee at all Reading will go up this season - although I think we probably will) and, sadly, he may feel under appreciated. If the latter is the case there is nothing that makes one feel better than recognition which, let's face it, Brian deserves in abundance. I would be hugely disappointed if he goes but I hope Reading fans will understand his reasons and wish him well, after all he has shown immense loyalty to the club and his achievements here have been nothing short of miraculous. He deserves what ever his career brings him.
