Wycombe Royal
pea What about Tim Cahill?

What about him? He's playing for some US club now.

A two month loan during the US off-season wouldn't be out of the question.

Cahill is now 33 and looked half the player he once was last season.

Dave Kitson might be available. He has experience in the Premier League.

redscot How can good players be out of flavour? They might not be good enough after all.....

You wouldn't take, say, Daniel Sturridge for Reading, then?

I'd like to see a few experienced players come in, the Sidwells, to make us more solid, etc, but wouldn't mind a loan that we're unlikely to keep to give us a bit of creativity - someone like Thomas Eisfield or Nick Powell would be pretty decent.

So only twice as good as Legs and Tabb then.

Powell doesnt have the experience to get out of this mess.

Experience isn't everything. That's why I said 'as well'.
At the moment who does have the experience to get us out of this mess?

This, would allow us to play a different system, knows the league and gets stuck in. Not the best solution, but would be one of the cheaper ones if thats the way we're going

Cahill would make us change formation yes, as he has to play off the front man, but he just isn't the player he was and from what I remember of last season and perhaps the one before was that he'd lost the power, timing, spring, desire or whatever it was that made him the goalscorer he was.

He was never a creative player but a timer of runs and a real threat in the air from set pieces. The latter might mean he's be useful for us but I think we really need players to help us evolve and be more creative.

I'm a big fan of experience but I think we might need some youngsters with no fear and a real desire to prove their Premier League quality (ie quality in on loan from bigger clubs who can show their real clubs what their worth) as they'll possibly have more to play for and less baggage to bring into the squad.

I'd rather not, but that's because I think he's an overrated twat who's going to blow up and fail miserably at some point soonish.

I've got an idea!
I bet that we could pick up the whole Rangers team for a sensible sum and that they would be up to giving it a good go in the Top division.
Perhaps we could part-ex the current bunch of lo8er5.

No money will be spent in January ?

by paulholsgrove83 » 12 Dec 2012 00:33

Relegation looks nailed on, will the owner bother spending millions on high wages knowing Championship football looms large. What would be the point in loaning players, none will be 100% committed. You may as well blood the youngsters now for next season. I've just got this feeling not much will be done, unless come January we are only still 6 points adrift.
