Spot on RR, whatever we all may think of the way R4E packaged up his rumours, or the rumours in general, Royston Drenthe would have to be an incredible shot in the dark to choose, if all you are doing is making up random rumours as a WUM.

He got lucky, simple as. You just have to look through the giant list of people he has linked us with to realise it's not a few deals that have fallen through, but him just picking names from twitter, or people he saw at the olympics, or read about in an article or what have you.

If he'd mentioned 3 names and got one right you may have a point. But at this stage he's 1/30.

He also said that Drenthe was unhappy at Beskitas in Turkey. He's never even played in Turkey, let alone for Besiktas. He was on a free, and had recently played for Everton, so was always gonna be an option. We'd also been linked with him in the press, as had Southampton.

Its more like 3 so far. I was the first with Leigertwood, I was also the first with another. If you dont want me to pass on my knowledge then fine. But I do have links within the club, although I am not an insider. These players may be ones mentioned by the manager as a maybe, a "I like the look of him, but we are still considering to do business". If I revealed who those individuals were, they would probably be fired so I rather slip the gossip in rather than bleat it out

You don't have sources at the club, you know it and we know it. Fine if you want to trawl the internet for stories or make them up, but don't make yourself look more silly than you usually do by claiming knowledge.

Didn't we go down this road last year with people like Maffff and Friday's Legacy? If someone has heard something (or is ITK if you would prefer), what would you prefer them to say? Nothing? I don't know if R4E is on the level or a WUM, but I could certainly see the point in mentioning a few general names to discuss the ones you have been told about. This is a rumours forum, no? So presumably you come on this board because you are interested (like me) in seeing if there are credible rumours that we are going to sign? If we hammer people who do come on with rumours, we will be left with the speculative drivel we also see on this thread.
