fair enough - you must be a glutton for punishment

We all want to see decent football, even if we differ on what it is, but at the end of the day you go home feeling better with a win. I didn't particularly enjoy a lot of McDermott's Championship title winning football, with all the spoiling in midfield and pouncing on mistakes, and could see it wouldn't work in the PL, but it was still fun watching us win the league.

Stam had us playing boring football, but there weren’t many people complaining much at the time, even if they'd have preferred a betterr style. That came the next season when it fell apart.

The we want to see good football always evaporates the second a team is doing badly.

Whatever.

Would be a big miss but we have Elliot returning to fitness and if it allows us to play Craig in his natural DM position i wouldn't be to worried. Would leave us Elliot, Wing, Craig and Knibbs in the Middle with U23s as back up.

All good, buuuut we really don't want ro be losing him. I'd rather have the quality depth for the inevitable injuries, suspensions, cup games.

Indeed - no doubt there will be quite a few incoming players so is better to retain more settled players. Although, on the other side of the coin, do we need to balance the books and, if another club offers £2M for one of our players, we should accept it?

I can see Knibbs and Savage attracting interest, but I can also only see us selling one and not both unless someone is offering obscene money.

Agree and we cannot rely on Elliott stating fit....he was also very injury prone at Chelsea. Savage hasn't had one injury with yet that I can remember.

There were many people complaining about Stam ball actually. It even had a name.

Mostly once the results fell apart. And they certainly weren’t saying he wasn't up to the job or should go when we doing well.

Did this aside really need to be resurrected either?

Hopefully with Wing, and theoretically Pereira and Wareham signing on it will encourage Charlie to stay.

I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t go this window. He always moved here to help his long term career at a higher level and he’s ready to do that. FWIW I think he was our best player except Bindon last year - not nec pots but in terms of ability and potential

Reckon 3m will do it and we’ll get half

Can't expect a particularly large transfer fee while we're still stuck in League One. Hopefully we can negotiate a sell on fee as part of the deal.

This is a non news story regurgitated from last week by a Wales paper....the quote from Savage is a non quote as it says Savage is "believed" to want a move to the champ to get back in the Wales squad.

He only made the full squad once.....was a back up player and players pulled out.

As per reports, understand there is interest in Charlie Savage. Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers in particular. However, understand the 22-year-old is happy at #readingfc and has no desire to leave. Would command a decent fee.
