If Spurs start buying top-class AMC players, a loan move for Gylfi or even Dempsey might be a masterstroke in terms of promotion. If we return to the promised land who knows who might then decide to stay.

I'm not allowed to dream then? We attracted a player of Drenthe's quality, why not Gylfi? We've got 2 and a half months of transfer window left, anything could happen.
