Focher i like BM's growing arrogance, and he does speak sense.

Just one thing, rid of your Tony Pulis syndrome and look at the fuckin camera when you're speaking, its rude to look away.

Isn't he just looking at the interviewer.......

What does he say in that? For those who can't get youtube at work...

Basically that he is looking at another defender and a striker... I assume that the defender is the chap from Swinedon

Elmer Park If Southampton are interested I could see him preferring a move there to be honest. OK so a lower division but more local for him and probably higher wages.

If we do get him the I would say a loan move to a lower league Club could well be on the cards as mentioned previously.

You're right, Southampton/Eastleigh is miles from Reading and real nightmare to get to.

Lives in Hedge End apparently, so Southampton basically.

50k seems like a fair enough gamble. Not sure whether the guy will get much action this season but who knows.

Next season after a full pre season will see what he can deliver

£50k is hardly a gamble these days for the chairman - I bet the chairman has got more than £50k worth of Waitrose money-off vouchers in his desk drawer!

£50k is the same amount we paid for an international defender who went straight into the first team.

It's not a massive amount in terms of Championship spending, but it looks like it might be a significant amount for us.

Good luck to him though. They must see something in him to think he can jump from Eastleigh to playing at this level. It's a hell of a jump!

He really doesn't like Fordham does he? I think he disagreed with everything he said!

He probably just realises how much of a tool Fordham is.

Still LOL'ing about how he said there was absolutely no chance of Rodgers getting sacked, only for news of his dismissal to break 2 hours later.

The good thing is that even if he's shit:

a) We won't have spent very much on him so it's not a huge loss
b) He probably is on low wages
c) He knows that if he leaves, he is likely to play at a higher level that where he is already.

It's a no-lose situation.

Blimey in that interview with Fordham was McDermott Mr Grumpy or what ? I wish he was as awkward to interview when he speaks with BBCRBs gentleman amateur football correspondent Tim Dellor
who McD seems to like. Brian made it difficult for you Jonny but don't give up your day job.

Do we know if Brett Williams has passed his medical yet ?

Possibly because Dellor is a respected journalist whereas Fordham is far from it.

Is this the replacement for Dave Mooney. We sign him, manager thinks he is not good enough, put him out on loan and struggle to get rid?

Thank you for that link. What a great interview, and seemingly what a good choice of Club for Brett. The 1st team Manager appears to be very taken with Brett, and I am sure he will get every chance to progress.

In an ironic twist, I have today had a call from Southampton FC ------ "after the horse has bolted" springs to mind!!

Zero mention of this guy on BBC RB this evening (despite txt asking question). Surprising considering the other media coverage - mind you Dellor thought Downes was still out of work and was more interested in Mr Ben (his old PE teacher ?).

FWIW I asked an AFC Totton online buddy what he thought of Brett Williams. This was his reply:

You will be glad to know he was a Budny purchase from Eastliegh !! big money I heard last season.

never really hit the heights here, flashes of ability but barn door come to mind & very greedy. Went back end of season along with your mate, coincidence ??

Got big headlines in local rag for a few goals last couple of weeks, but that is the first i heard this season, believe he MAY have been injured. As you say huge step up though, gut instinct says no way. I have been wrong before though !!!!
