Knew the new deal was a load of bollox. Wish people wouldn't get others' hopes up. The wall of silence is deafening.

Bye Brian & thanks for everything you've done.

Bit of a slap in the face given that no one knew you from adam before we took a massive risk on you but there you are that's football. Sincerely hope Wolves are relegated & it all goes tits up. I will be watching with interest.

It's ok, we will survive if he goes.

Lots of good managers out there, we have a good team. Don't worry chaps.

Will be sad to see him go though

On way home, BBC Berks said they had tried and failed to speak with RFC and WWFC - no-one would speak to them. Now, if nothing is going on, why on earth wouldn't RFC come out and say it's all rubbish - and why wouldn't McD tell the local media that he's not interested?

The latest of this McDermott to Wolves episode appears to be expected to roll on tomorrow. Steve Bruce as plan B. This after the journo involved spoke to people here and at Wolves.

Lots of good managers out there? Really? None as good as him. He epitomises what RFC is about - strong team spirit & hard graft. Best manager we've had IMO. Properly gutted.

The thought of Mick McCarthy - jesus no.

I just don't understand why he would move to Wolves now. I see the money element and the lure of the prem....but for only 13 games? They are pretty certain to go down, especially if he starts with them the way he did for us. I could understand a move to a team like Everton, but Wolves? How many players/managers do this and never really recover from the move.....MaccyD could become a manager like Megson or Mowbray by jumping ship now.....

Exactly. Have to say I am a bit disappointed in Brian if this comes to fruition. He has finally started building something & fcuks off at the first opportunity despite clearly being backed in the Jan window.

Who do we go for then? My vote is Dolan - keep it in house.

It's this kind of oxf*rd attitude which really gets my goat. Be upset, sure. But there'll be others, we're in a great position, we can get others in.

Stop being so knee-jerk!

He is going, something of some sort would have been said by now otherwise.

I can only imagine that BMc isn't too sure about his own job with the arrival of AZ imminent. Either he's not too happy with the names of Michael Owen etc, players that wouldn't be HIS choices...or he's already getting the feeling that AZ will want his own manager from Europe. Or a combination of both scenarios.

Surely then SJM has got to stop the take-over to keep Brian

I don't think anyone has said nothing is going on, there certainly seems to be an interest and some negotiations going on between, I'd guess, all parties concerned.

If soggy is right then I would take it that they'd agreed some kind of deal in principal but there are details to sort out and, perhaps, conversations for McDermott to still have with Wolves to make sure he's happy sticking with us once he knows what's on the table from both clubs.

I do think RFC should be a little more communicative in situations like this. Yes it's better to do most of our business. Rhine closed doors but they could give some kind of indication that there's been interest but they're fighting it.

Curbishley right back in the mix at 8.6 now on BF. Brian still second behind Bruce. Nobody obviously knows what is going on. All that's clear is that Fordham has made a cock of himself.

Have to say that I'm taking the radio silence to mean the worst.

I'd also be disappointed if McDermott leaves, but I can understand it.

The silence from the club is a worry though.
