Libertine
southbank1871 My guess is that he's been offered the job and an improved contract from RFC and is considering his options tonight. Does he appreciate quite how much of a soul destroying place the Black Country is?

What's your point?

Libertine Unless it has been indicated to him if he doesn't get the team up this year he isn't in the new owners long term plans...and might not be even if he does get the team promoted. Would you be killing him for leaving if that was true?

If that is the case then our new owners are contemptible.

Rother and cmonurz will be along shortly to castigate you for dreaming up hypotheticals.

Fair enough...

The point I am trying to make is there is probably a lot of stuff that has gone on which we are unaware of, and we'll prolly never will get the full story.

Bottom line is no matter the "whys and wherefors" it really sucks for the team right now if he goes. This might be a season killer...

The rest of us have been basing opinions on cold hard facts, and you just come in here with guesswork? Get out.

I'm worried that, if he's even contemplating it, he will take it. As that means we havent made it a no brainer to stay. Why not is just conjecture. I will NEVER have a problem with him though whatever, we've been bloody lucky he was there or it would have been League one not Wembley, anfield and man city.

IMO it's a done deal. I really hope he is an epic failure at Wolves & wish him nothing but ill if he goes. Sorry but there you are.

I am sure you are probably right. But the bottom line is that if he leaves, he leaves at an appalling time for the club. Season-killing, as you say.

79Royal We should have shown some faith in him and rewarded his great work with a decent contract by now.

This. At least if we had tied him down to a long-term contract he'd feel more secure & we'd get some money for him if he decided to go. As it stands we'll get forkall.

Average players + mcdermott = motivated squad to cover up the fact that the players are, well, average

Take McDermott out of it we are just an average team. Season killer.

Can those of you who live in Reading make your way to the Madejski car park please? We need a show of support.

Something isn't right, certainly as the deal isn't actually complete with TSI. There's little that can be done to offer him better terms. Since the deal was announced he has said how he didn't like the fact he had to sell each summer etc.

Thought his first interview he sounded far from excited. I seem to remember him using wording such as 'on the face of it' and 'I'm told that.'

The club have not said anything and even other journos have come out and said questions have been responded with no comment or no contact.

If Brian is unsettled then think of the team. Early bird offer on season tickets, why is that?

I know he's done very well on little resources, the season that he took over from Rodgers will always go down as one of my favourites, especially the fact he made the 4-2-3-1 formation work where Rodgers couldn't. Also his ability to get the best out of Long and Kebe is amazing .........

......But, we play god awful football. I don't want to sound like Royalee here but the stuff we've had to put up with this season is dreadful. Perhaps AZ has seen that and wants to do something about it.

You can all shout me down now.

Jonny Fordham should never be allowed to report on Reading again! Shambles.

This probably explains the radio silence for the club, they don't want a load of replica-shirted simpletons turning up to conduct a moonlit vigil. No such reverence from me; if you want to go Brian then f*ck off 8) .

79Royal
Focher Having spoken to people involved with the legal side of the potential takeover over the last week, and the fact that there is a good chance it won't happen (no house viewing bullshit here), perhaps Brian wants to jump ship before the shit hits the fan at RFC.

Did you speak to them before the Burnley game?

You gullible fool.

Exactly. Therefore - on the face of things - defending any decision to leave on the basis of unsettled situation with TSI is absolutely bogus! Particularly as they have backed him in the most recent transfer window.

Agreed, but wait until you see how bad it will be under Iain Dowie 8)
