RUMOUR: Lloyd Doyley

by TBM » 08 Jul 2011 16:02

Apparently we are using Nigel Gibbs' contacts within Watford to secure a deal for Lloyd Doyley.

Big strong defender who can play anywhere across the back 4

Always looks good against us but a big favourite at Watford and pretty much a regular for them so can't see them releasing him.

They have no money - so if we offer the right deal, they'll release him i reckon

They've just got £3.5m for Graham, don't tell me they have a black hole to fill!

Well certainly wouldn't be disappointed if this happened and he does only have a year left on his contract.

Mind you with 1 goal in 334 games he would not quite be the threat from corners that Mills was.

Yeah, even Murty managed 2 goals in about the same time.

Will be good for those with old Keven Doyle shirts too - all they need to do is add a y at the end ...

I'd love to see Madejski trying to have a conversation with him

doyley is primarily a right-back so is less likely to be up for a corner than mills.

what's wrong with doyley? i can't think of many defenders with his experience at this level that we can afford, and he can play anywhere across the defence, though primarily a right back. this would be a very good signing for us.

If we're looking to nick a Watford defender then we should be after Taylor not Doyley. I think he'd be ideal to partner Pearce.
