SPECULATION - Alain Traore

by pea » 17 May 2012 13:36

With Auxerre relegated from Ligue 1 is it worth us making a move for their only good player that is under 30?

Left-footed attacking midfielder who scores goals, looked decent when I've seen him play and could do ok in the Premier league

New Formation 2-2-2-2-2

=========Federici=========

=======Gorkss=Pearce====

======Karacan==Elwood====

Kebe=============McAnuff

McCleary=========Traore

Antonio==========HRK

If the opposition double up on the first five wingers they run out of players and the 6th winger is through on goal unchallenged.

No need for strikers.

Rumour - Alain Traore

by Barry the bird boggler » 03 Jul 2012 17:25

Auxerre striker Alain Traore has issued a 'come and get me plea' to the Premier league - with Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Reading leading the chase for his signature.

The French side were relegated from Ligue 1 last season, but the pacy Burkino Faso striker still managed to score nine league goals for his struggling side and is now targeting a move to England.

Stoke have turned their attention to Traore as a move for Manchester United striker Michael Owen looks to have stalled, while new Baggies boss Steve Clarke want to add more firepower to his squad alongside Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie.

Premier League new boys Reading are also keen and have money to spend, having already landed Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny Guthrie this summer.

Sources close to the player in England have told talkSPORT that he is desperate to score goals in one of Europe's elite league and feels the Premier league will suit his style.

The 23-year-old hitman has 21 caps for Burkino Faso, scoring nine goals, and featured for his country in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

with the jordan rhodes deal about to go through i find it hard to believe that were truly looking for another striker. i bet were just linked to him for no reason like 90% of the other strikers were "linked" to.

exactly what I was about to say seems like a West Ham signing judging by the league he is in.

Reading chasing Auxerre striker

Reading are chasing Auxerre striker Alain Traoré, according to talkSPORT.

The 23-year old forward is seeking a move away from the French side who were relegated to Ligue 2 and the Premier League appears to be the Burkina-Faso international's preferred destination. Fellow Premier League sides Stoke and West Brom are also keen on the pacey striker.

Traoré has scored 14 goals in 49 appearances for Auxerre, which also earned interest from Newcastle in October last year. Royals boss Brian McDermott appears keen to sign another striker but does his team need another striker? With five recognised strikers in Pogrebnyak, Roberts, Hunt, Le Fondre and Church, do the Royals need another forward?
