Is this because we have spent the budget for Gunter on another player? So are looking for compatriots of that unnamed player on a free to fill the squads holes?

I thought he looked really good when he first came over to Bolton.
Not really noticed him this season, but on a free transfer I'd be reasonably happy with it (going by my first impressions of him that is).

After having a quick butchers at one of the Bolton forums, it seems he's gone downhill quite a bit since he joined and he's had a bit of a poor run. Even those comments that were positive about him said how his form had dipped significantly.
At 30, even with the need for a bit of experience in our side, I'd probably say I've changed my mind and say he's probably one to avoid.
