Mcarthy bust up with Adkins

by paddy20 » 07 Apr 2013 09:11

There was a rumour going round yesterday that Mcarthy was due to play but had a bust up with Adkins just before the game. This may be completely wrong but just repeating what was heard.

If true, which I doubt btw, will those who so regularly accuse Federici of such behaviour be criticising McCarthy for it?

If it comes out as true then yes, he will be rightly criticised. Adkins did say yesterday that he chose Feds because of his distribution, seems like a fair enough reason. Doubt this rumour is true.

A poster posted what turned out to be the correct team on Friday night and Federici was in it. So I'm presuming he did indeed have inside information of some kind and that Federici was in line to start on the Friday.

Why would a player who has spent most of his time on the bench, and would probably presume he'd be on the bench before the team is announced, get into a huge bust-up about being on the bench?

His distribution.

Whatever you think of him as a keeper his distribution has always been much better than USA's or any keeper I can remember for that matter.

He's good at hoofing it!

Yes agree didnt make much sense. Hope he starts against Liverpool as Feds looked well off the pace and when on form would have stopped both of the goals I think

Hopefully this is just a load of the old BS and will pass away into nothing.

Who / what do you think the next rumour will be about Adkins?

Adkins & Jodi in dressing room brawl?

I can't buy it, sorry (actually , edit : delete that 'sorry')

He said his kicks would help us in quick counter-attacking. They're pretty accurate for a keeper and have a good flat trajectory. The problem was that just encouraged us to revert to McDermott hopeful punts into the channels, so it basically backfired, especially seeing as none of our attackers could be described as strong in the air. Certainly compared to Saints defence.

Conversely, I've always thought some of Feds' kicking has been atrocious in the past. McCarthy always seemed to have better distribution to me. Which is why I queried it.

If true full marks to Adkins. If rumours are to be believed, too many of these players think they have some kind of right to pay for RFC and they dont.

Made me smile last night that Twitter feeds from RFC payers were rather thin the ground.

Let Adkins get on with it and sort this rabble out.

McCarthy's kicking is nowhere near as good as Federici's. He doesn't get the distance, or flat trajectory that Fed can get to help out our players win it. I'd say it's the one big weakness I've seen. Although it does means he'll throw it more often because he has to.

Jesus Christ he has only been here 5 minutes? What could they possibly be arguing about?

The joke's on them - in a couple of months time they will have been moved on. Hope they all do a fukking Shorey. Good fukking riddance.

McCarthy had two games under his belt and was match fit, so he should have played. Feds has form for throwing his toys out of his pram when McCarthy was ahead of him before, so it wouldn't surprise me if he reacted to McCarthy's inclusion over him and kicked up a fuss. Either way he's one personality at the club that I genuinely can't stand and wont miss, and I hope he moves on in the summer. McCarthy will be the better keeper given the games.

Federici's kicking yesterday was miserable. Two went out for throw ins, and the rest were just bam get it down the field as soon as possible and hope to god we get the rub of the green. McCarthy would have offered no more and no less in that respect.

Prove it. All I've heard anyone say is that he is very professional and is often one of the first and last in training.

and no your Uncle's dogs brother telling your mums cat is not proof.
