Kenwyne Jones on loan

by DiscoDan » 18 Jan 2015 16:22

Spoke to one of my mates yesterday and he got a season ticket down with Cardiff :o and said there is strong speculation we have offered to take Kenwyne Jones on loan to the end of the season?

He said he weren't even on the bench for them against Norwich and they are trying to get the big earners off the books during January.

Would you take him? I would scored a couple this year and is a handful.

How could we afford to take on someone that Cardiff want rid of because of high wages?

Probably worth a ' ' back at you... We pay 50% of the wages and we're happy - they lose 50% of the wages of someone not even playing and they're happy.

Not sure what's happened to Kenwynne for his career to fall as it is... But I would love him here!

Plus mathematically paying4 months of wages on loan is a lot less than paying 2 years of a contract.

Not that I'm convinced about the suggestion....

If money at RFC is so piss-poor we haven't even attempted to buy a player and we're trying to offload the likes of Drenthe due to his high wages, 50% of a high wage is still too bloody much.

We are trying to offload Drenthe because he is shit and it frees up wages to sign someone who actually adds something to our squad. And they have already said there is a pot of money available this January, it just isn't much due to the constraints of FFP.

Reading want the big earner off our books too, so this doesn't make much sense... try again with a more realistic fib.

That's the point I made, but they don't like to hear that.

All clubs want big earners off the books who aren't going to play for the club. Doesn't mean they don't have funds to bring in others.

It's what the club and manager have said RL. I don't think you can take anything else as a decent indicator until things happen though.

I doubt we have too much to play with, although it would seem we've some earmarked to bring in Murray if possible.

I think Jones is probably someone who's past his best and not worth the investment. He was a real handful for a few years but I'd wonder how much his heart is really in it if he's struggling at this level these days.
