Speculation - Bradley Dack

by Royal_jimmy » 05 Jan 2016 22:04

Scoring for fun at Gillingham, got lots of quality for a midfielder and only 22 I believe.

Might be worth tempting the Gills with a bid.

Yes please, will be nice to have a CM after we sell Williams to Boro, Norwood to Hull, Tish to Brighton and Quinn to Real Madrid.

Good thinking by the OP - I was thinking about starting a thread about him in the summer! (don't think the Gills would sell now, though they may be tempted if a PL club came in for him with big money). But can't see him staying beyond this season unless they go up.

Reasons against, we have loads of midfielders and we'd face stiff competition, think there's already been interest in him. Plus if Gillingham go up they're not going to sell to another Championship club, and tbh they may not sell at all.

Reasons for, young and the kind of player we've gone for in the past, and imo will be a PL player before too long. I saw Gillingham play Newcastle in the league cup last season and he got MOTM in that game. It wasn't a game in which any Gillingham player particularly stood out, but he probably just about deserved it. And he's a better player now than he was then, he's added goals to his game for a start, and with no disrespect to league one they belong in a higher division than that. He doesn't seem to get scrappy goals, although tbf he has scored penalties for them.

Watched him play against Yeovil in the cup this season whilst working in Maidstone (few weeks before Dom Samual went there on loan) and he was W**K, ran round with a walnut top knot and did absolutely zero, lost the ball loads too. looking at his goals record, might have been a 1 off but he was clearly the worst player that night.

Plus points, cheap food. Negatives, not being let out for a smoke.

Turn it in! He might look good in League 1 but he's not even a striker let alone Championship quality!

And, as stated previously, he has a top knot.

I wouldn't bother mate. John Smith is wrong about most things so quoting him to prove it later on loses its impact somewhat.

Not actually watching I've only seen the goal. Good run by Samuel, good pass by Dack, good touch and a good finish by Samuel too. Judging by the goal, Samuel will be special for us.

How about we sell Williams to Boro if they offer us say £3m and we use that to buy Dack and Taylor on a permanent. Then we are down to 5 players on loan.

Heard there is a problem with agreeing a fee for Taylor. The club may be looking elsewhere for a fullback.

Samuel had a good game last night, returned the favour by setting up Dack with a chance in the second half, this against one of the best defences in the division. Expecting him to play a part next season, my one fear is that if Gillingham go up (and last night confirmed my pre-season feeling that they're no more than a Top 6 side) he may want to leave in search of regular football.

As for Dack, deservedly won MOTM. Thought he had an excellent game. Got an assist for Samuel's goal and also unlucky with a free-kick that came off the inside of the post.

Didn't think much of Dack personally (only watched the first half). Not sure he is ready to step up to the Championship, or fit in at Reading. Where would we play him?
