Whilst he clearly knows what he.'a doing, I think I'd rather a younger cheaper alternative in a year we're not going to be challenging for promotion. Cotterill would potentially be keeping out the likes of Fosu and Stacey. If we were lined up for a promotion push with a capable team then yes, but as it stands, no thanks.

That footballleagueworld site is utter rubbish. All its rumours seem to consist of "Team A is interested in Player B of Team C but Team C don't want to sell, so Team A are looking elsewhere"

Reading are looking at bolstering their midfield options and have focused their attention on David Cotterill. The departures of loanees Lucas Piazon and Ola John leave Reading short in wide areas and Cotterill fits the bill as an experienced winger at this level.

Tbf he has been used as a left forward/winger for the last few seasons, including early on with us.

What I'd like to think we can afford this summer is the arrival of a couple of players like Cotterill and perhaps someone up and coming/proven and hungry from Division 3/4 such as Roofe, Bradshaw or Henry. Mix that with the likes of breakthroughs for Dickie, Stacy, Fosu, Evans, Samuel and Tshibola plus the experience we already have and we hopefully can have a decent side that may be the basis of something really promising in the next 2/3 seasons.

Still can't help thinking we need a decent goalkeeper from somewhere though.

He's only 28?!

He's decent at this level though, and certainly the kind of player that could do a job. If we are going to start bringing through Fosu and Stacey more, which I hope we do, he's the right player to have around the place to help them.
