would be gutted to lose gunts to derby for 1.2 million
thats an absolute steal, and that release clause is criminal.

would leave us seriously short at FB and I wouldn't want the money needed for replacement interfering with the getting the striker we really need

Would be happy with a swap deal with Cyrus Christie.

But overall don't want to lose Gunter for just north of a mil, think it would be a steal.

I suspect that release clause is an insurance to prevent him ending up in a situation like Liam Moore's, where his club seems to want neither to play him nor sell him for a reasonable fee. If he wants to go, then all he needs is one club to stump up that amount of money, which is peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

I haven't seen anything to suggest though, that he does actually want to leave.

Superficially, Swansea, if that wasn't a made-up rumour, you'd think would be tempting, but he's a Cardiff supporter since a kid, would he really go there?
Hull is currently a basket-case, and unless it was a swap deal, at Derby he'd be in competition with Cyrus Christie, so might get less game time than here, and would lose out on working with Stam.

If it was just about money, he'd have let his contract run down, instead of asking for a new one.

Think the Gunter-haters will have to put up with him a while longer. We'll see.

Fine so long as we sign another right back, as that won't happen, no thanks.

Let's hope the rumours are true, good oxf*rd riddance, seriously overated player who finds it difficult to defend and even more difficult to pass a ball in a forward direction.

He hasnt really been focused on us since he returned from the euro's, so lets get rid

Puzzling, that. They also seemed to think we played 3 centre backs? Wasn't at the game - but does that reflect on how little Blackett attacked in the other full-back position?

As to ratings, I think being objective is one of the hardest things to do. If you like a player you'll notice the good stuff. If you hate him, you'll notice everything he does wrong. Which leads to slightly schizophrenic ratings at times - if a Derby fan was rating that game, I doubt Gunts would have got much praise :-) It's why I'd pay more attention to Charles Watts, as he's an Arsenal fan, than Tim Dellor - there's a bit more distance.

I think it reflection on them thinking Joey we playing CB rather than anything Blackett did or didn't do, a question of them making assumptions from the team sheet.

Majority of Reading FC fans rate him. Just the few on here who seem utterly clueless about his ability.

When playing out from the back. Full backs push wide and forwards. McShane and Moore spread right and left wide. Joey drops back and fills the centre void.
