Tyrese Fornah

by Brogue » 16 May 2025 17:17

Through my contacts at the club I understand Tyrese Fornah might be coming back.

He is ooc in the summer.

If true, that says to me one, or more of Elliott Craig savage or wing is off. As I don’t see why we would be in the market for a centre midder if these 4 stay.

Because we need competition in that area &/or he can play wide as well as centrally?

I've no doubt we may lose players we'd rather keep, but personally, the lack of depth & competition in midfield was a key issue for us in terms of getting higher up the table.

Released by derby

I didn’t love him last time round but he could do a job I’m sure in this league

Feel like he must have had a decent season to start most league games for Salford who fell just short of the L2 play-offs. Maybe worth the step up.

Because 3 of them start every week, the 4th is on the bench. So an injury or suspension and you need a 5th midfielder. If we sign a cheap but fairly useful player as that cover we’ve got the depth everyone says we’re missing.
Bizarrely we’re able to actually construct a proper squad this summer with no embargos, no squad limits and an owner with an eye to the future.
I reckon we might sign a striker even….

Can’t see Craig continuing at RB now yiadom is back fit, assuming he stays of course. The system last season was two in the middle. I dunno, 5 cm’s feels a little heavy considering we have priorities else where.

There's also Knibbs which is 5 for 3, with Rushesha also offered a contract and other youth players. That's plenty, so it does suggest the strong possibility of a departure.

I can't see Yiadom starting every game or event finishing 90 minutes week in week out. Craig was fantastic in that position. Would happily have him there again.
