Rev Algenon Stickleback H The odds of Watford just letting their new manager leave are pretty slim I'd have thought.
And after all the moans about McGhee and Pardew walking out on us, it'd be pretty rich of us to be OK with trying the same thing.

We took Coppell from Brighton so we already taken someone else manager

Samrfc01 He knows the club well and would know all of the youngsters that will undoubtebly have a bigger role next season.

RoyalBlue IIRC Watford are still absolutely strapped for cash. We therefore could enter into a legitimate deal with them to buy the services of Brendan Rodgers.PEARCEY Why? Wheres the proven track record?
Where was it with McGhee or Pardew for that matter?
Both came highly recommended by managers who know the game really well.
Brendan Rodgers did a great job with us at the lower levels of management, attracted the attention of Chelsea and now comes with the backing of none other than 'The Special One'. Plus he's done a damn good job turning Watford around.

Sun Tzu I'd still go for Dolan ahead of Rogers, and would be a bit unhappy if Dolan was prepared to walk out on Watford after such a short time in charge.
Rogers' past links with us mean little IMHO as most of the people on the playing side have moved on. Given that a lot of people seem to see our future with the youngsters then I can't see a better person than Dolan to carry on his work and take the kids through to forming the core of the first team.
You could even then see one of the old pros moving across to the Academy - if any of them see coaching as their future. What a way to keep Murts involved !

Watford boss plays down Reading talk
7:10pm Saturday 11th April 2009
By Anthony Matthews »
Brendan Rodgers distanced himself from this week's speculation linking him with Reading following this afternoon’s draw with Barnsley.
The Hornets boss was suggested as a possible target for his home-town club this summer, amid claims that current boss Steve Coppell may decide to call it a day.
“I love Watford,” Rodgers said when the suggestion was put to him. “Watford have given me a wonderful opportunity as a 35-year-old manager. I had to fight for my life every day to arrive to become a manager and a club has given me an opportunity here and what I want to do is, over the next few years, really create and build something. When I came in I said I wanted to change the philosophy at the club and I love everything about here.
“I’ve only started in management so it’s maybe because I’ve been there [Reading] for a long time and there’s maybe that sort of link, I don’t know. Myself and my family have been accepted here, we love it. I love the players, I love everything about Watford and I’ve only got the concentration for here to hopefully move us on.”
