I'm not sure where to put this on the board, hopefully here.
I travel a lot for work and in the past year have been in Africa, Middle East, the Far East & Asia.
As a Reading fan I thought I would float the idea of gathering up old Reading shirts and take them to Africa for local kids. If anyone has any that are worn out, grown out of, or their children do, that they would like to donate just express your support on this thread.
When I go to Nigeria and in particular Sudan (where I am currently) I often bring an old (boot sale) suitcase with kids clothes in that a few mothers get together for me. I then deliver them to street kids (orphans) homes where it is always appreciated.
It's when travelling in some remote African villages that I see the odd football shirt - Brazilian mostly, some Italian & French shirts, also Man U (see not just in Devon & Surrey) and the like. Never seen a Southampton shirt though!
Having some Reading shirts to give would be great. I could take some photos and stick them on here. See the Royals around the world!
So if there are any shirts (just youth or children sizes really) that people would like to donate to a good cause let me know through this site. If there is sufficient interest then I will think about how to collect them through family that still live in the area (they don't know that yet).
