What did BBC and Sky say about us?

Always interested in the comments made by the studio observers (for some strange reason).

What did they have to say today?

BBC Website Reading, in their first season in top-flight football, are sixth, outside a Champions League berth by virtue of only goal difference.

Salako at the mad stad for us, no-one in the studio.

Constantly heralded us, and suggested that Bolton never really looked like winning. At full time said we fully deserved the 3 points.

Not seen the BBC pundits.

What did Motty have to say? I turned on in time to hear him blabbing about Wenger and Henry.

It's not a UK show, but Fox Soccer Channel was highly complementary. They said we were out-Boltoning Bolton - not in terms of being dirty and physical, but battling hard for each other, right until the final whistle, and having few stars that gelled into a strong, organized team.

Irish Examiner 2006/12/04
Monday, December 04, 2006 :

Royals ready for busy week, says Coppell

The Royals’ 1-0 win over Bolton was their fourth successive Premiership victory and took them above the Trotters into sixth place.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce admitted Reading had been the better side but insisted they had also taken advantage of the fact that the Reebok had hosted two draining fixtures in the previous seven days, against Arsenal and then Chelsea.

Reading, who had not played since the 1-0 win at Fulham seven days previously, now face a similar schedule when they travel to Newcastle on Wednesday and then Watford on Saturday.

But Coppell was convinced his players’ 46-game schedule last season, when they romped to the Championship title and accumulated more than 100 points, meant they would take it in their stride.

He said: “It is a week we are looking forward to. Last season we had three games a week almost every week.

“It is something we are used to and I would hope we can cope OK with it.â€

Irish Examiner Opta Fact: Bolton have picked up more cards than any other team in the Premiership — 34 yellow and two red.

No real surprise there

Just surprised it is so low!

Mind you, Watford can't be far behind them as we will no doubt see on Saturday.

HOOF!

And I hope we remember to take our own towels to dry the ball before throw ins, particularly after the Watford ball boys/girls have deliberately rolled it through the nearest puddle.

Arch Watford have among the fewest cards.

That is quite staggering and indeed worrying if they have approached all of their games in the way they did the Sheff Utd one. I fully expected that fixture to be a case of 'dirty northern b*stards' but they were angels compared to the Herts cloggers!

Good job we had a practice session with Bolton because I suspect it will be more of the same on Saturday!
