RoyalBlue Sadly Ivar was shown up for both goals today. Dropped too far off Johnson for the first (too late to point to him when the ball is at his feet I'm afraid Ivar) and then far too hesitant when the ball bounced up, allowing Johnson to nip around him steal possession before setting up the second.

Victor Meldrew Did you notice Sonko's feeble attempt to head away the cross?
Did you notice Shorey's pathetic attempt to tackle Arteta before he set up Johnson for the first?
I just wonder if the "superman" and "Shorey for England" chants are perhaps a bit wide of the mark.
Coppell did criticise the defence as a whole and presumably that includes our two wide men who offer very little defensively and a return of Convey wouldn't improve that.
As posted some weeks ago before this latest poor run I think our two central midfielders need more help as they are usually up against 3 most weeks.
Bryn for Hunt and playing centrally would be my suggestion (not sure Bikey in there has the dexterity) with Little staying wide and retain two up front.

No way, that would completely detract from the focal point of our attacks. We have a limited attacking outlet at the best of times (ie, not through the middle) so taking away one of 2 attacking focal points seems absurd.

LegendDirk Gently We were outplayed by a damn good team, with bags of Premier League experience who are very "streetwise" - remember not so very long ago they qualified for the Champions League.
So why do we always have to have all these post-match sessions of arguing which player(s) are to blame for the every defeat?
Sometimes it's just that we've played against a better team - we're playing in the most competitive league in the world, and it'll take us quite a few years to get to a consistent standard in it, so remember - we can't win them all, for every match there must be a loser as well as a winner, sometimes that'll be us - and CHILLAX!
No they didn't they lost 5 niLOL in the qualifier.
In one week, out the next

Same as last week:-
Bad error by
Sonko as he faces the wrong way and doesn't even jump for their first goal today and
Shorey gets left standing before SWP has a free cross to produce the 2nd goal.
Having said that about Sonko I thought he played pretty well for the rest of the game.
Shorey however I thought was poor as his passing was nowhere near what we have come to expect.
Bryn brought a calmness to central midfield and presumably plays again on Saturday.

Fair enough.
Problem is, we seem to be playing against 'damn good teams' every week. We allegedly played a damn good one last week in Blackburn (who, btw, got hammered 6-2 today).
A few weeks ago, when our next 4 games were to be Newcastle, Watford, Blackburn and Everton, did you figure we might make a little hay?

So, you're not happy because our free from Brentford was beaten in the air by an £18,000,000 signing and our £25,000 full back was beaten once by their £21,000,000 winger.
Looking at the make up of the two squads, it is an utter miracle we got a result and to bleat about the odd defensive error is as laughable as Morinho bleating about injuries. Poor guy, he's down to his last 25 internationals.
