How can people buy that rag?

Nobody was hurt yesterday, Steve Coppell’s decision to leave Stephen Hunt on the bench removing any real possibility of another life threatening collision.

Thats because all Stephen Hunt wants to do is kill players isnt it.

Daily Mail sports editor, you are a miserable disgusting oxf*rd oxf*rd.

As a long time Mail reader, I am equally disgusted

Having sent 2 responses to the utter bollox that they continue print on this matter (neither of which has been place on their website) my new years resolution will be,

FCUK THE DAILY MAIL!!!!

you don't think that perhaps they were inferring that with Hunty off the pitch none of the bloated chelski underachievers would be able try and scythe him down? if he had played i would have expected some nasty off the ball afters from drogba or 'Hip' Essien...

no i dont. Its the bloody daily mail fo oxf*rd sake! have alot of time for the big clubs with lots of money and have oxf*rd all time for the small clubs! Thats their philosaphy.

That article has riled me so much that I have also submitted the follwoing comment, won't hold my breath to see if it gets on.

Could the author please explain this incredible and potentially slanderous comment?

"Nobody was hurt yesterday, Steve Coppell’s decision to leave Stephen Hunt on the bench removing any real possibility of another life threatening collision"

The quote implies that Stephen Hunt is likely to cause life threatening damage to another player. This despite the fact that he was unanimously cleared of any wrong doing by the FA and the vast majority of the media, for the challenge on Petr Cech and the 'freak' accident that left Cech with a depressed fracture of the skull.

Hunt has to shoulder no blame for anything, he is a clean and decent footballer which is bourne out by his excellent disciplinary record this season 13 starts (19 appearances), 1171 minutes on the pitch, 0 bookings and 0 yellow cards. In his time at Reading he has picked up one yellow card in 66 games and in his career has just one red card in 229 games.
(Source bbc.co.uk).

I look forward to your response.

Totally agree with that. I know I shouldn't be suprised having unfortunately grown up with the Daily Mail but it really is the lowest possible form of journalism.

Matt Lawton who wrote the article always has his Chelsea hat on whenever reports on a match.

The article that runs along side it today on inside back cover by Richard Copeman is much better. 'Jose feels heat from Coppell the king of cool'[/quote
Superb article by Richard Copeman, but he is a Reading supporter.Wrote excellently about us every week last season, has supported us for many years.

Haters of the Mail, should read the whole paper or at least all the football articles before condemning the whole paper.

Every paper's match report today focusese totally on Chelsea and how they should have won.

Apparently another team turned up to play as well, though you may miss it in the reports

Hardly a shock though is it. Chelsea and Man Utd are in a two horse race for the title whilst we're just happily chugging along in 9th. Focus was always going to be on them dropping points rather than us gaining one.

Keep this forum for football please, plenty of other message boards for politics in other places. Would just say.

The Sun supports Blair as Murdoch holds court with him before every election and tells readers of the News International papers to vote Labour.
Sky News is equally biased towards Labour
The Mail is a Tory supporting paper.

Just wanted to correct the poster who thought the Sun was a Tory paper.

the sun has traditionally been a tory paper, and most of its columnists have tory leanings. They very much broke with tradition to back labour in the 90s after being a total staunch tory paper previously.

Agreed that is a disgraceful piece of journalism and one which fully deserves a letter from the club's lawyers.

It really is time that RFC did something to stand up for their reputation and that of their players.

Failing that, I'd love it, really love it, if a techie with RFC sympathies just accidentally managed to b*gger up the Daily Mail's webshyte.

I have just emailed Mr Lawton suggesting that his newspaper might like to make a retraction and a donation to either the RFC Academy or a charity of Stephen Hunt's choice. I have also stated that if he does not apologise, I hope the legal bods acting for RFC take him and his newspaper to court. Barstewards.

That Daily Mail report is utterly scandalous!!

I really hope that Hunty does something about that, cos it is totally slanderous and not "fair comment" (the usual get out clause for journo's writing this sort of rubbish).

No, no I'm quite serious. This isn't the right forum, of course, but what the blessed Margaret did for us was to deliberately use the apparatus of the State to crush organised labour. In doing this, she led the way to us becoming the sweatshop of Western Europe. All our major industry has been taken over by foreigners. We are dependant on the financial industry for Balance of Payments. This will be seen to be a poor move when that also collapses under the power of World-wide trading on the Internet. I don't know what you do for a living, but evrything that's done in this country is over-managed by 'Consultancy' companies, where real skill and expertise is crushed by the no-mark 'Project Managers'. Look at the debacle surrounding Wembley Stadium, for example. The Olympics? Don't make me laugh. There is something fundamentally wrong with the way this country is functioning. I spend a lot of time in Switzerland, and the difference is incredible. It is a right wing country but it has decent protection for the less able and there is no real poverty or crime in the country. And the buses and trains run on time!!!

Still, mine is only an opinion and no more or less valid than anybody else's, no matter how ridiculous!!!

Nope,

The Sun was a Labour paper until bought in the 1960's by a new Australian proprietor..
