URZZZZZZZZ Good and bad points to this draw, but lets look on the bright side. I believe that away teams at the OT in the cup get 9,000 tickets. We could have a mass invasion of Manchester on that day!

And a piss up on the town in the evening, brilliant

Royal Rother Like it or not, building awareness of the Reading brand is given a massive lift by the worldwide exposure that comes from this sort of game and is worth its weight in gold.

Being happy about the draw because it helps to build awareness of the Reading brand :?

It's a part of the bigger picture that many don't see. The future prsperity of this club does not rest in JM's hands, long-term, he has made that very clear time and time again.

This type of game, particularly if we play well, will do an awful lot of good. As Hiro said earlier, it will be the most watched programme on planet Earth on that day.

You might not see it this way but that is something I am rather sure that JM will be pretty happy about.

I understand what you are saying and I'm sure as primarily a business man, JM is delighted. However, once people start talking like Peter Kenyon and describing football teams as 'brands' it makes me want to hurt someone.

Agred, at the very least, the FA Cup is about the only competition left for the fans.

So dissappointing. I really thought this could have been it. Still that said there's no point in throwing the towel in. Who knows, we make some history by creating a massive shock. I would like to see a strong side out, this is the cup, we ride our luck, get battered but somehow sneak a 1-0. Very, very possible.

How many of the 9,000 tickets on offer will we sell?

I would imagine 5,000 tops.

Depends on TV coverage, if we get bumped to Sunday then 3000 tops.

This is only the 5 round.

At least 180 minutes till you get to the final

Are you sure???

I'm fairly sure the 95 playoff semi away at Tranmere and the final were both on terestrial.

The semi-final most definitely wasn't terrestrial as it wasn't on in Manchester - they showed the Bolton-Wolves game instead!! :x

It was on ITV you bellend - I have it on video.

Sir Alex has just got off the phone to the referee and has confirmed who they've secured. It's also been confirmed that Man U will win 3-0 and a Reading player will be sent off for pulling someone's shirt

Our "inferior" cup team averages 3 goals a game this season so watch out Fergie.

Manchester United are away at Lille in the Champions League on the following Tuesday evening after the weekend of 17th February, while the Royals' next game is away at Middlesbrough on 24th February.

I doubt they'll want it going to a Sunday either.

We do want it on a Sunday then because it means we will play their reserves and therefore have a better chance of reaching the next round.

It won't be on Sunday - it will be either the early or late kick-off on the Saturday - probably the early kick-off to give Man Utd the most recovery time.

It was on terrestrial but as ITV is split into regions they showed the Bolton game around Manchester as it was of more interest to the majority of people living in the area.

I can concur with MOI on both counts - it was on ITV as I too have it on VHS (I guess they only showed Bolton - Wolves in Granada and Central) and Spacey is a bellend.

Everyone on here who thinks it's a foregone conclusion that we're out of the cup has clearly not been paying attention for the last couple of seasons. With Reading, nothing is a foregone conclusion. We've played MUFC twice - 1-1, and 2-3. We can score against anyone, and on our day we have the resources to keep anyone out. Never mind that we were outplayed on both those occasions. We still competed and we can do again. Where's all your fighting spirit. This is the cup! We'll put up a great fight and we can win. there have been bigger surprises in the past.

RobRoyale alas... goodbye FA cup ... maybe see you next time round.

It better than being knocked out be a mediocre championship team as per usual, and we'll get a huge pile of cash for it as well.

I was abroad at the time and as such have no idea whether the game was live on ITV, regionally or nationally although I think the 2 of you might be correct.

As for Spacey being a bellend, 100% correct.
