Dirk Gently Also, I think the substitutions were a bit "safe." I would have loved to have seen Leroy stay on and Doyle replace Hunty, with Kits playing slightly behind the two of them.

Precisely.

Would've been nice to see Halford get a throw-in. Maybe if he'd had more than three minutes...

I think premiership defenders have worked out Lita's game, lots of backing in, he also isn't that quick. The ball simply comes back too quick as Lita cant hold up the ball long enough.

When Doyle came on he gave us an that little extra, he seemed to be able to beat his man with pace, get crosses in, win the ball in the air all of which was lacking by Lita today.

Having watched both Duberry's games, I notice the defence seem to be very deep which seperates the attackers and midfield. I not sure if it's to do with our attackers not holding the ball up well enough or the defenders choosing to play deep.

Kitson was the best midfielder we had on the pitch yesterday.

yep Doyle should start!! Would like to see Doyle and Lita start against Spurs.

When Doyle came on he provided that bit extra, with holding the ball up, getting passed his man and feeding chances. was good to have him back.
Whereas Kitson spent alot of his time back defending, leaving Lita upfront on his own.

Thought Oster would have come on sooner though, as things didnt seem to be working between Lita and Little yesterday.

Indeed. He is very one dimensional, but when we get his game sussed out as well, (i.e that it is pointless to expect him consistently to produce anything constructive outside of the box so just leave him to poach inside the 18 yard area and let others do the creative stuff), then we'll get the absolute best from him.

He was also our best defender.
What on earth do some people expect?
The shape of our play with Kitson leading the line is so much better than when he isn't playing.
For me it would normally be Kitson plus one other.

Exactly and Lita was our best winger.

We had no midfield yesterday. Against a mediocre Portsmouth midfield I thought Sidwell Hunt and Little were very poor. Kitson spent a lot of the time tackling back and trying to link up play with Lita out of the wing.

I would be annoyed if Doyle replaced either of them. Lita has been on fire and compared to other clubs, would be the leading scorer. Doyle has to earn back his place just as Lita had too. Maybe if he comes on as a sub for a few games and gets a goal, he might deserve it.
