Championship Football ..

by Adz1871 » 20 Mar 2007 18:01

How many of you can admit you prefer the Premiership to the Championship?? ... I for one enjoyed the Championship due to these reasons ..

1} No Media Drama (I.E Cech Incident)
2} No Constant Change Of K.O Times Due To Sky Sports
3} Easier To Get Tickets For Away Trips
4} Anything Is Possible (I.E Derby County Top Of The League)
5} No Plastics

Not sure

Adz1871 How many of you can admit you prefer the Premiership to the Championship?? ... I for one enjoyed the Championship due to these reasons ..

1} No Media Drama (I.E Cech Incident) - Nice to be noticed
2} No Constant Change Of K.O Times Due To Sky Sports - Happens in the Championship, OK not as often
3} Easier To Get Tickets For Away Trips - whoopee Colchester, Southend, thinks I prefer the stadiums we have visited with proper facilities (except Pompey of course)
4} Anything Is Possible (I.E Derby County Top Of The League) - Reading in the top half... bloomin' miracle
5} No Plastics
- not that old debate, at least they dilute the regular moaning barstewards I used to sit next to.

Also we have been welcomed into the Premiership as a breath of fresh air (OK, with the occasional patronising tap on the head), wheras at least we don't have all those ex-Premier teams for whom a fixture with Reading was a sign of just how far they had fallen.

I am saddened by what Reading has become - a club full of plastics and mourn the days of die hard fans standing around me, watching the club they love.

However to answer your question:

1) not much of a problem: the flip side is we get to be in the media far more.

2) A bit annoying I agree. Flip side is of course the money.

3) Easier to get tickets for home too! Flip side: we're getting more capacity 8)

4) Even now anything is possible - look at what we've achieved!

5) No plastics in the Championship? Last season is when they all started to jump on the bandwagon.

I totally miss the good old Reading though.

Anyone who prefers Reading to be in a lower division over the one that they currently are in is clearly a fool.

I must admit I preferred the CCC.....

The cost of Prem football is exorbitant - and I resent not being able to go to all the aways like I used to.

Even worse than some of the 'plastics' is the influx of those pretending to have been fans for years.....

In response to your answer for number 4 and 5 ... What i meant by number 4 was that there aren't just 4 top teams .. anyone can beat anyone. number 5 .. But only when we went clear at the top. I remember a certain friday night at home to Forest when there weren't that many turned up.

Sorry, but as enjoyable as the Championship is, and it is a decent league, I wouldn't swap being in the top flight. This is what it's all about.

Odd, that's not how I remember things in the Championship !!!

Out of interest would preople prefer Div 1 to the Championship and Div 2 to Div 1 and the Conference to Div 2 as presumably all the 'negatives' diminish further down the chain.

If so I recommend you visit the Kassam for your football fix....

Behindu .. No, I didnt say everyone beat everyone else .. I said they could.

Realistically do you expect Watford to beat Man United?? .. There is more chance of Leeds beating Derby!

I dont think everyone is a bit thick .. just yourself!
