Sounded like a good Royals performance. Starting to hear the L'pool sing with only a couple minutes to play.

Gutted.

We did not deserve that.

Very good performance, but I think we could have profited from having Lita on earlier. I think the last goal has to be put down to the otherwise excellent Shorey. Dicked around bringing it out, lost possession and was left completely behind the play as Pennant crafted the cross.

Agree about Lita - but I don't think Oster was the man to sacrifice, he was having a good game.

As said above, did not deserve to lose that. Definitely worth a point. The lads gave it everything, we cannot ask for more.

Some of the team were outstanding today. Particular mention must go to Ingi, best defensive player on the pitch. Oster & Hunt had very good games and Gunna was also terrific.

If there are problems it is upfront, today they did have the service. Kitson to be fair did get better as the game wore on. Doyle was very quiet.

The substition was not great either. The tide had turned Liverpool's way as we were tiring after having put so much in. They made some good attacking changes, I thought Oster should have stayed on and Lita on for Doyle to keep our shape.

A test of character now next up. I really would like to see us thump Charlton.

Today's results mean we stay 8th, possibly 9th if Pompey can get anything from their evening game with United, whose lead is cut to three points with that game in hand. A UEFA Cup spot is now 6 points away (7 if you consider Everton's vastly superior GD).

Sheffield United's home defeat to Newcastle means Charlton stay 17th, and Warnock's men slip into the relegation zone on goal difference. West Ham's win means they are now only two points from safety.

Would be horrible on any team to go down on GD. Potential for a relegation on goals scored too.

Charlton P32 Pts 31 GD -20 GF 29
Sheff Utd P32 Pts 31 GD -21 GF 26

Lets not forget our strikers were up against one of the top 3 English centrebacks today. Carragher is a class player.

The much-maligned Hyppia was excellent as well. Tough team to beat, no question. I'm not too worried about the loss. The good thing is we showed a much more positive performance than against Spurs. A win against Charlton would do the boys no end of good, though. It gets hard not winning week in week out.

MOTM Ingimarsson. Absolutely outstanding. Best games for a while from Hunt and Harper too. Sidwell never really got to grips with this one.

Ian Royal Carragher is a class player.

And as much of a whinger and whiner as Terry, Lampard and Gerrard. It must be an England trait. Whenever you're losing out to the other team, scream, cry, shout and throw your hands up at the lino.......kinda pathetic really when they are such good players.

If Kitson, Sidwell or Hunt had shown the sort of 'passion' on display from Gerrard and Carragher then they would have been booked.
