As an ex-Liverpool fan (my Prem team as a kid, alongside Reading), I can say it sounded embarrassing for them from the radio.

Only when they went 2-1 up could you hear them.

Sing when they're winning, they only sing when they're winning.

I'm glad that we have finally put to bed the myth that Liverpool fans are the best in the world

Don't be silly.

I think it's pathetic when teams call themselves "the best fans in the world". Especially in Liverpool's case as they're the only people who seem to think so.

I think it is pathetic that fans are bothered what fans of rival teams think of themselves.

FR, if you are 'a Royal' then, as I said above, I find it particularly pathetic that you, or any similar 'Royals' would give two sh*ts what other fans think of themselves, with the exception of, for example, our 'local rivals' like Swindon or Oxford.

Grow up.

And I find it pathetic that you care about what I think of Liverpool, but that's life.

I just thought today was a huge LOL @ Liverpool after the way their fans don't shut up about what a big club they are, 5 times, best fans in the world etc. when really they're just like any other team, maybe worse - fan-wise. They mostly sat down, had 2 original songs and only sung when they were winning.

Shocking support by their standards.

Liverpool are the best fans in the world, they said so themselves after they managed to create a decent atmosphere in a European Cup semi final a few years back.

Who'd have thought a team would manage to create a good atmosphere at a European semi final?

By their standards? Their support was shit at Anfield as well earlier in the season. Considering the amount of 'fans' they have, their support is a disgrace.

It's more a case of "can't be arsed" against teams like Reading (no offence intended) and has been since the 70s and 80s, be it at home or away.

When you've just come off the back of a European quarter final a fairly meaningless league game is never going to inspire the crowd. If the positions were reversed Reading fans would be the same. There's no history between the two clubs or the two sets of fans. No sense of rivalry. And it was a nice sunny day

There were also a lot of non-regulars there today with many of the "hardcore" giving the finances a rest ahead of bigger things abroad.

Katie Marsden Liverpool fans once again showing their obsession with Man United with a rather tacky home made banner

I normally like and admire the Scouse wit but that banner was made by a half-wit!

Would this be the "Italian Bizzies Are Scousers" banner??

How thoroughly distasteful

//Maybe ManU fans should start waving "Sheffield Police are Mancs" banners

Tw*ts

1871 Royal I haven't seen this on any other thread. But did their 1st look off-side to anyone else?

And yes. But the lino was crap throughout the game. In the first half, I thought he was a Liverpool lino, but he was just crap.

The lino should been replaced by a carpet!

Confirming the view we've gathered this season that most Premiership support is rubbish. It's classic 'sing when we're winning' support. Will do it for the big games, have a pretty small real hard core and a huge number of less committed fans.

This season Man Utd have been about the only away fans who have impressed and it's interesting to see our assessment confirmed by a Scouser that the myths are just that.

Best away fan's I've heard this season have been West Ham and Sheffield Utd. Be interesting to see if Newcastle's away support can live up to the hype. Livepool were piss poor home and away. I don't buy this "difficult to get excited about a nothing game" excuse. That's precisely the sort of thing thrown at us when we get accused of being plastic.

Dont think there were actually any scousers in the away end to be honest. Did you see their coaches on the hill? Essex Reds, Northampton Reds, Ireland Reds etc. Priceless..
