Stand up for SSC

by Irvinchangeyaname » 09 Apr 2007 10:58

Don't worry, not another dreary stand up / sit down debate but a plea to all fans today to get behind Sir Steve rather than spend our energies berating Pardew.

Let's have some loud and sustained support for our boys. Stand up, sit down, lie down, adopt a crouching position. No matter, we've got a full away end today and let's give them our full backing with 90 minutes of noise.

Legend!

Totally agree about leaving Pards alone. Time to move on and remember just how far he took us.

Support our team, our manager, our club!

Since Parkinson turned down the job of manager at Huddersfield at the very last minute could he be a Pardew man rather than a Reading legend?

He already is a legend. It was what he put in as skipper that made him what he is.

Got to have atleast one bite at Pardew tonight. But agreed, it probably is time to move on, and hey, if he hadn't had left we could still be playing in the Championship as mid-table nobodies!

I can't ever see that happening but it would probably get a few lines in the national press tomorrow if there was a chant of stand up for Alan Par-dew. I still feel guilty that at Upton Park he responded to a chant of pardew ... pardew give us a wave which was quickly followed by Pardew Out!

I for one wont be giving any stick to pardew. the mghee situation was tottally different, pardew never gave any promises, all he asked for was a bit of extra funds to enhance the squad! which was turned down at the time. anyway lets be honest, who out of you lot would turn down double your sallary to do the same job somewhere else, especially somewhere you come from!

Oh, same. That made me feel a bit...mean... (I couldn't think of another word!)
Hope you guys aren't too harsh on him today.

Historical revisionism at its most obvious mate!!!!

What about his comment 3 months before he jumped ship about wanting to stay for 10 years and create something??????

Short, short memories some people!

Deserves all he gets in my opinion. As much as I hate Colin, I really hope Charlton and the Sham go down this year so Judas can be berated as the first one to take 2 teams out of the Premiership in one season.

Agree 100%.

Sometimes I wonder whether it is that these "move one" types either have not 1% of the passion or pride that we do, or whether it's they don't have 1% of the memory.

What McGhee did yes was totally different. IT WAS LEGAL.

McGhee is totally forgiven in my book.

Plenty of Parkinson songs in The Antigallican before the game but none inside the ground.

Yes that was quite disappointing actually. But at least the anti-Pardew lobby didn't really sound up either.

Make sure Parky gets a damn good welcome to the Mad Stad next season as I think CAFC will stay up.
