RoyalBlue By and large I don't believe our fans take the p out of clubs going through bad/hard times. Indeed most of us do remember our roots and have a lot of sympathy for and empathy with them.

Exactly - the majority of the sensible jibes on here (possibly a paradox but hey) are aimed at those clubs who, in recent times, have given it all Billy Big Bollocks with nothing to back it up. These include:

Brighton - Massive club (apparently) stemming from the ticketing as outlined above (and also McGoo's jibe last season)

Southampton - Last year's best team in the league (apparently) according to Nigel Quashie. Shame they finished 48 points behind us with a relative GD of -68.

Various other clubs - due to their supporters feeling they have a divine right to be in the Premier League as they are a "massive club" (Wolves, West Ham and Leeds spring to mind)

You don't often (if ever) see people on here having a dig at Forest whose fans have accepted that they are currently in Division 3 as this is where they deserve to be. That is the difference between realistic supporters and those living in cloud cuckoo land.

I would venture that the majority of Reading fans wouldn't say that now we're in the PL we deserve to stay here for good (and those that would say that are either on a fishing trip or seriously deluded).

riverroyal It is not known who is likely to feature in the testimonial with a number of Albion legends of the past and the present likely to play. Names currently floating around include Bobby Zamora, Adam Virgo, Robbie Reinault and possibly Peter Ward

Playing for who though....?

FA to address homophobic chanting

Homophobic chanting is to be explicitly banned at football stadiums for the first time by the Football Association.
Ground regulations currently warn that "racial and other discrimination" can lead to ejection, or even arrest if it is sufficiently serious.

However, a spokeswoman for the FA said the rules are changing to specifically mention homophobic behaviour.

All Premier League and Football League clubs have signed up to the rules, which come into force next season.

"Traditionally, the rules were there to police racism at football matches," the spokeswoman said.

"But homophobic abuse was something that has been highlighted to us, and we are taking a strong stand against it. It was implicit in the rules, but now it's absolutely clear."
