There were about 5,600 for the Chelsea reserves game which I guess is a record for a Reading reserves game. I wonder how many will turn up for the West Ham reserves game next Tuesday - it being the final home reserves game and it looking a sure thing they will be champions.

Alan Partridge JOHN HALLS IS A FOOTBALL GENIUS

the thing i'd say in fairness to Halls he hasn't been able to stay fit long enough or be given a fair go to REALLY judge him yet, be like judging Murty after his first season here, which would be injury prone crock of shit winger.
quite

There is one "the one" who is qualified to make any decisions pertaining to John H.

He signed him...he will no-doubt sell him.

Me?......well a good performance and an assist at Anfield.....a goal against Sjoke....and several reserve game credits.

Shame that too many experts form opinions of players from websites and keyboard warrior opinions etc

Agree with that, see also some reports earlier on the season with regard to De La cruz, who then came back at Everton with a more than solid performance and there was a 'De La Cruz is shit' thread after that!!

There are certain players that are judged after 2 or 3 games and are the forever rubbish or forever brilliant. Big fan of Nicky Shorey but arguably at fault for both goals v Liverpool nothing said, had that been Seol or De La, would have got slated on here. DoubLOLe standards.

Spot-on

NS...brilliant player....but for England after the Liverpool game?

DLC? why ever drop him? his performances (given the opposition) in the last half of the season have surpassed the players that he has actually replaced.

and................Don't get me started on Gunnar

Either way......Steve C (at this moment in time) sees a future in John Halls and the like.

Peter Mate? anybody care to pass comment?

A sweet moment.Or could this be the seeds of a Parky/McDermott coup destined to overthrow the maestro?

i may even ask for an autograph and not just walk past him next time i see him outside of the madstad.

I'd be very surprised if it was a recrod for the reserves - although probably you'd need to go a long way back in history to beat it.

Doubt the West Ham game will beat it but if we make the playoff final and it is against Man Utd then and attendnace above 10k should be a formality.

Every game I've seen him play for the first team he's been poor and looked disinterested.

Every game I've seen him play for the reserves he's looked disinterested, but not really any worse than anyone else on the pitch. I've seen nothing from him to really warrent a chance whilst he's been playing for Reading.

I hoped he was going to be a ready made replacement for Murty but I just don't think he has the right attitude to get the best out of what must be considerable talent.

Well he's scored one for the first team I agree...and a great tap in that was!

As he's supposed to be a defender by trade I'd be a lot more worried about the goals he's contributed to giving away than the ones his supposedly set up!

I wouldn't bother wasting your breath on him.

All I'd say is that he played well last night. Maybe because he needs to impress the scouts because he is on his way out. He will be a decent mid championship team utility player next year, if he wants it enough

Do not underestimate the ground swell of support for the reserves, the kids love it at an affordable price for the parents.

With publicity we could be looking at 7,500

I'll definately be at the West Ham game (top v bottom  ). Do you know if there's a date for the playoff final yet and venue?

I have heard a date and venue mentioned but don't think either are confirmed. I understand the playoff alternates between North and South and last year it was hosted by the North.

Date may be on the Prem website

Might not be Man Utd - very tight at the top in the North division with Man City two points behind with a game in hand.
