Behindu Coppell did say that they had thought about playing Leroy, and Leroy was up for it, but that his suspension applies to all club games.

Can't be right can it that the game tonight counts as part of his 3 match ban.

That's right, but they didn't think so at the start, as his suspension wasn't directly from an incident in the match, in that he was stitched up after the match (SC's words!).

But they checked and found he couldn't play after all.

If that's the case then he's either going to be available for the Newcastle game (game 1- Fulham, game 2- West Ham, game 3- Bolton) or they've banned him for 4 games. Seems stupid to ban him from the reserves.

A ban is for all competitions, but you miss the requisite number of Premiership games.

Dreadful match. No pressure on the first XI there.

Not a penalty though.

If they do finish top and get to play the Northern Boys I think I'll give the game a miss based on that performance tonight. Also agree no way was that a penalty.

Indeed, I think the wording goes something 'banned from representing the club for the duration of 3 first team fixtures' so you could miss 3 first team games and 4 reserve games if your ban covered the time when there is an international break and an FA Cup weekend after you are out of the cup !

The standard of football was dire.

However, James Henry looks like a great prospect and John Halls looked okay at centre half.

Halford didn't look too fussed and Long was pretty quiet after some early promise.

Enjoyed my view from the gantry this evening - watching my little brother commentating on the game for BBCRB.

If only they'd have given him the ball. Kept giving it to Bignall who was out of sorts all night.

I thought Halford was poor, never really in the game. Long made some poor decisions and obviously left his shooting boots at home.

That Friday Feeling I thought Halford was poor, never really in the game.

Another performance like that and he'll lose his place in the reserves ;)

Absolutely asking the wrong people this question!!

But

Why is Halford playing in midfield?

He's been bought ideally as a full back maybe a winger, that's where he's going to play for the first team when we need him so why play him out of position for the reserves? What benefit does that have on him or the reserve team? So when we need Halford to come in and play full back he hasn't played there in a competitive game for months.

Henry looks like the only one of that lot who will be very soon on the verge of the first team. Halford wants to play midfield (it's his preferred position apparently) but tonight he just didn't seem to want to be there. I know it's only the reserves and he is our record signing, but that was a perfect opportunity to show SSC how good he is.

Bignall? On the showings I've seen of him this season I would say he has all the talent of Bas... Without the ability to moonwalk. I fear he has no future at our club, and will be lucky to be at any club that's in the football league tbh.

Is it me or did Shane Long look a bit of a chubber last night. It could have been because he was playing with the youths but he has definately filled out.

Halford looked to be playing as the link man in midfield, looking to switch play etc, but his passing wasn't good enough to do that job.

Also I had to put up with 2 very young and very loud Hammers fans singing the Bubbles song and Federici is rubbish over and over again throughout the second half!
