Hunt wasn't good yesterday, but was nice to see him score after the jeering he was getting WOW I feeLOL good

Let's be honest here, for 80mins we were shite, worse than shite. That penalty gave us that bit of belief and we came back in it and ran em ragged for the last 10. The subs played a HUGE part in that, Long was the difference for me as said on another thread.

Unlike some on here i have no issues with any of our players (maybe Harper but i will always say if he has a good game) i call it how i see it and only 4 or 5 had done enough to warrant a 6 out of 10 yesterday before the last 10.

Back to Hunt, you know what you get from him, he's gonna do some things that make you tear your hair out but he will always run himself into the ground/keeper and will always give you 100%, easy to see why fans like him as a player. I'd still prefer a fit, on form Convey to him though.

I thought Hunt was dreadful today for most of the game and Oster not much better.
Regarding Oster I think he will be gone before next season and Seol will be the challenger to both wide players.
Whereas Oster can be bad Hunt can be bad most of the time but ends up doing something that has an effect on the game, whether that is injuring keepers (yes I know it was accidental) or scoring as he has in the last two games.
I don't think he has played such a big part in our success as the original poster suggested but he has done his bit and I thank him for it.

All this talk of Hunt's bad behaviour is fine - but how many yellow cards has this f*cking animal got this season?

Exactly. He's actually a very well behaved chap. So Maguire et al, you can go f*ck yourselves

Maguire Why the fcuk did he go in on the Bolton keeper today? More stupidity from Mr Hunt.

I admit he's done very well this year but I really don't think he's a great top flight footballer. Hasn't got the touch IMHO.

I would've scored that header today.

You would have kneed it in.

Harper also made a difference when he came on - Gunnarson looked like a fish out of water

Glad to see a thread praising Hunty instead of another one slagging him off. One of our best players this season, my favourite player to watch on the ball.

Hunt is good, but we'll see how good when Convey returns which I think is fair to suggest.

readingbedding We don't miss Convey.
Says it all.

He gets loads of stick from people on here, and will again in future but he will continue to improve as far as I can see.

Thanks for reminding me. Bobby who? Have not missed him this season and Frodo has done a great job.

We've not missed Convey? You are having an absolute laugh. I hope Convey comes back fully fit next season and shits all over Hunt like he should - I respect Hunt's effort, but he hasn't got the talent and it's a travesty that people are even comparing Hunt to Convey, let alone saying he's the better of the two.

Again, being a fan of Hunt doesn't mean that I don't like Convey, you can like all the players if you try.

Anyway, I hope Convey will return 100%, but at the moment he is not around, so rather feeling sorry for him whilst he's away I'll stick to supporting to what we have.

As I said, the form of Hunt means that Convey has not been missed as much as many people had thought.

It's good for the team that Hunt has done the best he can and produced good performances.

Comparing the players is not a travesty, it's just that Bobby is crocked and is back home in the States, a million miles away from the Premiership, Hunt has taken that place, played well and is taking his chance.

Nothing wrong with people saying that we don't miss Convey due to Hunt's form, it's just a comment. Convey can't play, it's not his fault that he's injured and we're not comparing because it's pointless to do so, Convey is injured and Hunt is playing week in week out.

Having Bobby back will be like a new signing next season, so again that bodes well for the team.

Hoping that a player comes back and shits over another player is very strange by the way, they're team-mates and it's the team that counts, and Coppell will play whoever he sees fit.

I love happy endings.

Are you still with the barmaid you got in the family way?

I am still bitter and nothing less than us finishing in a UEFA place and Bolton not will level things for me!

With hindsight I think Hunt has been the better option for us this season than Convey.
We've needed battle / energy / determination and I think he wins in those areas.
Next season will be different and as Bobby is by far the more skilful player it maybe we need his skills more than we do the more earthy approach of Hunt.

Useful to have 2 players of such differing abilities each of whom has given us one very good season - next season will be the decider then !
