One Beer is never enough. Just watched the post match press conference by SSC on Reading World. He states - tongue in cheek I'm sure - that with regard to Europe, Mr Mad has £200m to supplement the squad.

Slightly Hungover erm...I think the Sky reporter deserves a whoosh.
Coppell's comments were clearly meant tongue in cheek, though I was quite surprised none of the journos seemed to laugh when he said it in his post match interview.
Maybe they don't understand sarcasm...

fireman_jules We have had a legendary season , but one thing really gets my goat. If we have been tryng to avoid Europe all season then why didnt we put out stronger sides in the F A cup when we were safe from relegation ?! My only gripe of the season

BillBrasky Did he just say 200 million? Maybe he meant pesos or rupees
200 million pesos = 9 million GBP
200 million rupees = 2 million GBP

West Stand Flash "The chairman has told me he's got £200m to supplement the squad - it's just a question of me going out and writing the cheques!
... ...
"We've prioritised it massively this season - I make no bones about that - and we would prioritise it again

we haven't been trying to avoid anything. we've tried to win every game whilst giving fringe players a chance to impress and conserving the fitness of our "first" 11
by Behindu » 02 May 2007 17:51
fireman_jules But what im saying is why would we need to conserve the first 11 when we are already safe ? Conserve them for what ?
