Is that "our" Mr Angry?

by Royal Rother » 08 May 2007 19:21

During the commentary on Saturday Joel or Tim made reference to Mr Angry over on his left who was repeatdely making loud braying noises when Henderson was substituted.

I have heard him make similar references over the years, and always when said individual is making a complete cock of himself.

Tell me, is that the Mr Angry on here, or someone else they have christened with said pseudonym?

I would assume it is one and the same, but he knows his football, so is just letting rip as we all do, not making a fool of himself.

Maybe, maybe not. Mr A is one of the few nobbers I have ever met (albeit very briefly), since when his moniker has seemed somewhat ironic.

Knowing his football would neither disqualfy him from making a cock / fool of himself, nor excuse the banality of such actions.

I can confirm that our Mr Angry was not making braying noises when Henderson came off. If Joel did indeed say that, I assume he has actually christened another of the back row regulars 'Mr Angry' (and I've got a strong suspicion I know who it is, although he's not a HNA regular so most won't know him).

I doubt very much whether Joel knows the HNA nicks of anyone who sits in front of the commentary box - or, indeed, cares overmuch.

Twas NOT me; the guy Joel refers to as "Mr Angry" is about 5 or 6 seats to my right.

In case you are reading this Joel, I sit 1 seat from the red seats on the back row; Mad Max sits next to me on my left, Woodcote sits next to me on my right, Skyline next to him.

HTH

Incidentally Royal Rother, I wouldn't give that sort of cack abuse to an ex player; my bon mots are usually directed at opponents, the "highlight" probably being the line "Is that how your wife looked when you beat her up Diouf!!" aimed at El Hadj Diouff when he collided with Sonks and collapsed onto the turf.........even the Bolton Directors heard that and were, for some reason, appalled!

Glad it was not you sir, I thought it did not sound the sort of thing you would do, and knew you would be on to clear it up.

Thank you for clearing it up. I am somewhat relieved too, as although we might have pretty polarised opinions about certain aspects of football, I really didn't consider you a braying jerk!

Re Diouff, nice one!!

I think nothing less than an on air apology is in order.

For the most part, yes, but having stood near him up at Saltergate I have found it's entirely justified at times!
